It would be tough to blame a guy for taking a D1 HC gig. That said, it could also create some interesting things at IlSU. They just cleaned house again, counting on Ford to fill in with better players.

Now just imagine how different his résumé would be if he had stayed till this year. I guess it's time for me to lay off. Marshall has served him quite the plate of crow without any help from me.

I hope for Ford's sake some tournament like the CBI doesn't bring WSU and Tennessee State together in one of the guarantee style games. I'll pick WSU to cover the spread on that one.

The question is why is he even on the radar for ANY D1 HC job? What has he done to deserve it?

If you take off the hate-goggles, Ford is probably a great hire for a school like Tennessee State. He's a young up-and-coming coach with a track record of recruiting success. He was also an assistant coach at TSU under John Cooper, so he has a tie-in to the school.

That said, I'm glad our Associate HC's like to stick around until they can take over a better situation.

John Cooper was a great hire. Besides Ford's ties to TSU, I don't see him being ready. If he's their best option, you can see why they don't have a good history.

Tennessee State was so bad this year that I think I might be able to coach a team to the same record. They aren't looking for a great coach. They are trying ANYTHING.

Tennessee fans are delusional. They're so happy Cuonzo is gone because they're convinced they're getting an upgrade. The name I'm seeing over and over again is Gregg Marshall.

I hope they get sent on a one-way trip to the abyss.

If Gregg Marshall takes the Tennessee job...he gets placed in the same level of respect as Mark Turgeon in reference to his departure to Texas A&M...just my opinion...but that would be a slap in the face...if your going to leave...leave for an upgrade not a step back

Upper half finishes in the PAC 12 on a regular basis and you have job security at Cal. Cuonzo is in a better situation. I couldn't imagine a coach with options taking this gig. I would think a low major coach getting a huge bump would be the target.
