    • Well, looks like we go from fending off UTard fans, to fending off MUtard fans.

Either way, everyone is just going to get put in their place. Its a pretty enjoyable position...watching elitist fanbases explain why they have an obviously better job available for our coach and then watching him continually prove the opposite, year after year. Every time anyone gets on a high horse about their program and their available job and these coaches like HCGM, Few and Shaka say 'no', it has to be humbling a little, right?

“Me personally, I’m not a jumper. There’s a lot of goodwill that Wichita State has built up, and the community of Wichita, with me personally. So it’s going to take one heck of an offer. I’m sure Shaka and Coach Few and those guys feel the same way.”

Pretty sure it's chopped up but still, as a guy that listens to these guys for football an awful lot during the season, it's kind of fun to hear these guys with Gregg.

Why? What's going on at Va Tech?

Probably nothing going on at Va Tech. My opinion is that it isn't a job with as much potential upside as MU or UT. I'm sure Buzz is just happy to be away from Marquette if what I have read online is accurate. It seemed to me that he jumped at the first chance to bolt whether it was going to be the best job available or not.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

"of" or "to"? I assume "to" 3.1m...just being funny.

                    Wouldn't mind a raise "of" 3.1m though.

                    • I've been listening to KC sportstalk radio for the last couple of hours. All of the hosts seem to think that HCGM is a pipe dream that MU can't afford even if it was an attractive destination. They figure it would take a 3M offer just to get a look. One name several have thrown out is Greg McDermott. I haven't a clue what he gets from CU but this might be a good time for a change with the turnover the BJs are facing. His stint in the BigXII might have taught him to stay put though.

If they offer him a raise, he has to take it. He knows he is nothing without his son and he might as well try and grab the biggest paycheck possible before the inevitable happens.

Now THERE'S a fit. That has real potential, in my opinion. If I were him, now is the time, for sure. Do not stay at CU...

Plus, CU shouldn't have ANY trouble whatsoever finding a new coach anyway. They are in the MID MAJOR EAST now. There will be tons of high end coaches interested in taking them through this rebuild.

I say go with Jacobsen. :)

Wait, I just figured out what is about to happen. McDillmott is going to take the MU job and Jacobsen is going to Tennessee after they figure out none of the usual suspects want to coach there. A guy who stuck it out for very little money when his stock was through the roof a few years ago, who has struggled but performed reasonably in his horrible recruiting situation, might be a good plan G for Tennessee. The substantial raise might be able to get him to look past whatever is going on with the Gonzo situation.

                          • Watching Creighton scramble for a coach this offseason would be delicious.

                              • Gotta love phog.net internet rumors.

Per the bricklayer.....No but seriously from a good source Marshall getting 5 million a year for 7 years. Then Tennessee will buy out his remaining contract from WSU for 35 million dollars. Take it for what it is worth....You heard it here first....
The mountains are calling, and I must go.
