I live 30 miles from Wichita and don't have cox as an option. I get penalized for living in Kansas and not living where cox is a provider. How in the heck is that fair to a whole bunch of people?

Cox doesn't want rural business, so they aren't an option where I live (50 miles from Wichita). I happen to know the president of the local company I get my cable through. He's also a WSU alum. He tried to get KS/Cox 22 in his offering a couple of years ago when he was first putting his TV package together. I can't recall if they wanted too much or simply wouldn't work with him. Either way, he couldn't get a deal done.

This is clearly an issue WSU is going to have to deal with, but the article said they are looking at a five-year deal. If so, the best thing that could happen is for ESPN, NBC and CBS pick up more games, correct?

Originally posted by RoyalShock View PostCox used to be the only provider in our town. They sold it off to some no-name company several years ago, along with the other small towns in our area. I took that to mean they wanted to focus on larger communities. I get that and don't blame them. When a smaller local company tried to work with them to get that local channel back into some local homes they didn't seem that interested. That, I don't get. I need to talk with my acquaintance again and get the full story.
I would say people should contact the athletic department with their concerns.
