You guys have to understand, Creighton fans are in a lot of pain right now. They had to watch us be successful in the postseason while they, yet again, lost early on. They also had to watch their former coach, who IIRC claimed that he would never leave Creighton, make a trip to the Sweet Sixteen, something Creighton fans can really only dream of at this point. They're hurting right now.

That's why roughly 50% of season tickets in the Quiet Center go for the massive sum of $200/seat with no fund contribution requirements. It's why they ironically have 17K butts-in-seats for a lot of games, but a message board with 12 active members about 2 new threads per week on average. The Fighting Sweater Vest followers are about as casual and detached a fan base as you can find in D1.

You have a 55 page thread going about getting out of a conference, and we're the ones hurting? And apparently there's another with five pages about Doug envy, even though we're no longer in the conference? Um, OK.
We at sCUm are excited about the future, and rightfully so. Let's be truthful here: laugh all you want, you'd still give a testicle to be out of the Valley. Our ceiling has been removed, and nothing that is stated on this board has any impact going forward. So please, get your fill now, because as much as you're gleefully reporting that we're setting ourselves up for a fall, you are unknowningly doing the same.
Lose to Texas and Tennessee and you can kiss a path to the Tourney goodbye, unless you somehow break through in St Louis.

Feel free to define CU's ceiling, as historically that's VERY easy to quantify.

Enjoy Dougie's senior year (and Gibbs' sixth year and Wragge's tenth year)...because unless Wookie has a love child that we all don't know about, there isn't another All-American walking through your door next summer. Meanwhile, at WSU, many of the key figures of last year's Final Four run (which by the way requires consecutive NCAA wins, which sCUm knows nothing about) are back not only for this season...but several will be around for the following season...and more for the season after that. HCGM doesn't win basketball games with guys good at playing suburban HORSE. He does it with athletes.
Oh, and congrats! You beat WSU 2 of 3 games this season when you were a preseason Top 20 team and WSU was losing five seniors and was picked fourth in the conference...and some brilliant pundits like Bleacher Report predicted that WSU would have one of the biggest letdowns after the 2011-12 season. Nice job! It took you until the final game of the conference season to clinch a title over a team with seemingly no chance to make waves at the national level. Holy hell....let's put sCUm up with Wooden's UCLA teams as the greatest team in college basketball history.
Gonzaga was an easy #1 seed? They only beat a team 3 times by a solid average margin of 12 last year. That team? Saint Mary's...who was basically handing sCUm their backsides for majority of the game. So, if the Zags were weak, it indirectly doesn't say much about sCUm either.
Would I love to be out of the Valley? Hell yes. I will give you that. However, if you think the Big Priest puts you on the same level as the bluebloods, guess again. Get ready to become the Evansville of the Big East once you start learning about college athletics politics coming from your conference mates in DC, New York, Phily, and Chicago. I guarantee that they won't be too interested in how things benefit Omaha when it comes to conference matters. Somebody has to be the political conference doormat.
So....as we have said many times, get back to us when you have some national pub and can win 2 games in an NCAA Tournament.78-65

If there is no ceiling attributed to Valley teams, why 55 pages about how imperative it is to get out?

Furthermore, your ceiling didn't disappear, it just got a little higher. And the false floor you've had with Dougie and Gibby will drop out next year. Enjoy the free-fall, don't forget to deploy your chute. We won't see you at the bottom.

We have our situation to work on and you have yours. Also, we'll take our circumstances over your current situation rather than vice versa.
Whether or not you think that's smart has no bearing on anything. You're the bird in the hand and we see ourselves as the two in the bush. So right now, we welcome the opportunity to rain on your derision. That's going to piss off a ton of people over here just for me saying it, but it's accurate. And just as you rightly say you won't see us at the bottom, neither will we be expecting to see you at the top. I sure won't be back raining on anyone's parade should you turn out to be wrong, because like you and some of the other Shocker fans, I agree that our 'relationship' is past.
And, you can carp about a false floor all you want. In fact I wouldn't expect anything else.
And Ta Town, I am leaving, but if you want me to not come back then don't post stuff from our board that causes a half dozen trolls to show up where we live. Talk to those who posted it, and those who started it all.
