  • I'm not sure how much I will see it first hand, but I have great anticipation at the loads of geographic and academic smack that is no-doubt coming down the pipeline towards the Fighting Sweater Vests, their city, and their school, via their new conference mates. A Texas-sized portion of karma comeuppance fit for a self-defined king.

Another outstanding point. Those 2 words probably were seen as yiddish to scummy and his bj blowhards. One wonders if they even get it?

I think it's hilarious that Creighton fans think the new Fox network makes them even more "big time". The network will be obscure and won't even be picked up by major carriers or without adding on the service. It's below ESPNU's stature right now. Just ask them about Fox Sports One, and they would tell you it's better and more popular than CBS, lol.
Hey hold on there...they might even get a couple of replays on FoxSoccer, you know, because college soccer is HUGE.

        • Yeah, envy is a *****. I wonder how many fans had aneurysms watching Marshall lift the midwest regional championship trophy.

          • Wow! One of the CU fans on that board pointed out the the Big East had 2 TEAMS in the F4 last year. That sorta raises the bar pretty high for EPIC FAIL.

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

There's a poster there who's primary existence apparently is to be their compliment to Cold - good or bad. Can't take him too seriously.

One of the posters responded to Dr's F4 post with a reference to Gonzaga being the #1 we beat to get there - the inference being that we had a cakewalk into the F4. Would love to post that link from Kenpom showing our F4 run to statistically be the most difficult road out of any F4 team in the last - what - 10 yrs, but I'm not going to create a login at this point to do such.

                EDIT

Somebody help me out. I looked on the website http://www.bigeast.org/. I couldn't find a team that went to the final four last year.

I also found one on the MVC http://mvc-sports.com/ website, I found one on the American Athletic Conference http://theamerican.org/ and one on the B1G http://www.bigten.org/ and one is in the ACC.

                • How many Big East teams were in our bracket? I know there was at least 1. And they weren't within 20 of us. But they had a bad shooting game.....

The BE did actually have two teams in the F4 - Syracuse and Louisville. Both schools have left the BE.

Louisville and Syracuse were both in the Big East last year.

I believe the Kenpom article looked at data from the last 11 years. But whatever the number, we had the hardest run statistically of any year for which the data was processed (i.e. it wasn't the case that in 2002 or 2003 someone had a more difficult run--it's just that the data doesn't exist or hasn't been analyzed). It would be interesting to know how far back you would have to go to find a tougher run according to this metric.

Right, why are they even citing final fours? The only true measure of success is conference affiliation. Or maybe tv contract.

                          • You guys are correct. Sorry I though Syracuse went to the Big East. They went to the ACC.

So the Big East, as it is today, had 0 finial four teams.

If the CU poster is celebrating that they are in a conference with 2 Final Four teams we need to look at the conference they are in.

                            • I went back over to the thread, I got to stop, but the best post is calling doc "insecure" for his two word post "final four."
