A logical BJ fan sums it up:

I hate to say it, but this thread is slightly amusing. We haven't even received the invite to the BE yet and we're already talking about who we're too big to play in the future. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but for years I've read this board and the others, and heard constant bitching about the scared major conference schools and how they won't schedule mid-majors. We aren't even out the door and our fans are now too big to play Valley schools? Lord.
How does the system ever change if we don't remember where we came from and how hard it was to break through with the big boys to begin with. Also, let's not act like we're Georgetown all of a sudden. It was said best in the previous post, we're Seton Hall until we prove otherwise, so let's not get all high and mighty. WSU is likely to have a better RPI than us next year (if Doug leaves), not the other way around. We should want to take them on.
I like the talk about future schedules and hope we'll keep rivals such as WSU on the schedule. I think we should. And to say we won't play Nebraska, the only other major conference in the state, is just silly. This is the type of series that will hopefully foster competitive hoops in Nebraska. We can add other patsies to the schedule as well.
At what point in the Big East rumor madness did everyone get high and forget who we are and where we came from?
All that being said, I can't wait to represent at the Verizon Center next year. There is a small but strong group of us out here. And only a few hours away from MSG by train."

I don't know if I have ever went to that forum you just listed. Perhaps I have a time or two over the last decade but I don't recall. More importantly though.. when I went to that link all I saw were people referencing me, copying my signature line, etc. etc. etc.
Ambulance chaser was there talking about me, Blue (the dentist that once said he wanted to meet me in a dark alley - I presume for something other than a root canal), DoubleBJ... all obsessed with little old me. It warms my heart that I am still firmly in their kitchen and they follow my every word on ShockerNet. It isn't a coincidence that I talk trash about them on here. I know they are watching..... lmao!
The Great Nebraskan Insecurity Complex. What a great pathology to exploit.
The BJ's... what a hopeful bunch of bad catholics.

Re: Wichita State Game Thread III: The Last Word?

I'd be amazed if Creighton actually considered it. Even if we did, I'd assume it would have to be some type of 2-for-1 type of arrangement with 2 games in Omaha and the other at a neutral site like the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
I know the games have gotten a bit more competitive over the past few seasons, but we can't lose sight of the fact that we are now in an entirely different stratosphere of importance on the college hoops landscape. We have no reason to play them.

Still not able to wrap my mind around the assumption that the new BE will automatically be a major conference. I think one can make more arguments in favor of the likelihood it becoming a solid mid-major, as opposed to a major.
-Private schools which are primarily small in enrollment.
-Typically smaller alumni bases due to above.
-Athletic programs that aren't even the #1 story in their town, much less state.
-A list of member schools that is mostly forgettable and low profile to the majority of US sports fans.
Obviously the above list does not apply hard and fast to all prospective new BE members, but I'm just not seeing it.
My personal opinion is that the select few, bigger name schools in the new BE are going to be weighted down by the majority of remaining institutions, NOT the other way around. Simple law of averages. Most of the new BE institutions carry no cache outside of the snob-ridden, Jesuit system wherein enjoying the scent of one's own flatus is considered a treasured pastime.
