I was talking to some of the students after the Creighton game and was told that some of their signs were taken away because security didn't like them. One student at the Illinois State game was kicked out because he threw paper when we scored our first basket and a couple of pieces went onto the floor. Not on the game floor, but where the police officers stand in front of the student section. When the white paper was being handed out for the Creighton game, the security was going crazy worrying that it would be torn up and thrown. I think that the lack of creativity has occurred because the school will not allow alot of things now that we used to do years ago.

I just now got through reading this entire thread. Just a couple of quick comments.
On the 10.1 out of bounds call at the end of the half. I haven't watched the replay, but as the ball went out of bounds, I wondered if the shot clock might have expired. What bothered me is that after the call was reversed, CU was allowed to substitute players in that were not waiting to come in when the whistle was blown stopping play. Had the call that it was CU ball when the whistle was blown. Doug would not have been in the game. (Coaching error on CU -- CU was defending and would get an offensive opportunity, Dougie should have been at the scorer's table). The rules permit this, I guess, but they should not, IMHO. Of course CU had not used the mandatory time-out, so they could have been charged a timeout and it would not have affected anything. Just bugged me at the time.
I loved the students waving the white sheets of paers. Made me think a whiteout would look really good at Koch.
I cannot locate the quote of the announcer saying that CU was more versatile and would be favored in Omaha, but CU has one way to win, shoot a high percentage. WSU has many ways to win, shoot high percentage, low turnovers, rebound, or play defense. When we are on and combine several of those ways, we are unstoppable. That is versatility."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. Don't get me wrong, I like your idea, but maybe you should keep it all to one thread.
