This was brought up a couple YEARS ago. Why it wasn't done then is beyond me.

I am not a student, but ....

When I attended A&M, there was not a single student, who did not know the words to all yells (not cheers in Aggie land) and the Aggie War Hymn. Additionally, most all non-student fans knew the words as well. Maybe some of the foreign students did not know the words.

If the season ticket holders were taught the words to cheers (yells), then the noise would be deafening provided they joined in the cheers.

It would be cool, if each cheer leader was assigned to lead a section, when cheers were exhorted. Instead the cheer leaders are all bunched up in front of the student section.

So here is my suggestion as follows:
1. Motivate all fans to learn cheers - students and non-students
2. Teach the cheer words to all fans. Hand-outs, video board, signs, p.a. system etc. It will take awhile.
3. Pre-game practice cheers
4. Lead all fans in cheers
5. Keep it simple.
6. Take one bite out of the elephant at a time.

An aside: If you are ever in College Station on a Friday night, before a football game, experience midnight yell practice. At the last midnight yell practice, which I attended, there were over 40,000 student and non-student fans in the stands.

I can't see them doing it, but if the war chant thing gains traction, I'll be yelling it. (I am only 89).

Student section was disappointing, in general, so I shouldn't have expected much. Again, I wish somebody would take the initiative to organize and spread the word about that chant and others..

I agree about the student section. I was hoping with the 4 injuries, the students would bring their A game for a change. Surely WSU has some students with passion.

I had to work tonight. Trust me I would have been at the game if I didn't get called in at the last minute at work. I need the money to pay next semester's outrageous tuition bill.

I suspect the student section was tame is due to the semester being over with. It has always been a lot of empty seats during the holiday break.
