    None of the students actually know the words to the song, I know I didn't, give it time, took forever for RCJH (The Chant that must not be named) to catch on. I believe that we will win needs to happen, especially with the injuries, ask players who's fan sections say it what they think, and it is their favorite chant. I think we are lacking some form of Organization for creating and learning chants, this needs to happen.

        1. Do your homework on the other team;
        2. Find things to heckle them about like their favorite songs, food, whether they have a hairless legs, etc;
        3. Organize the heckles into cheers;
        4. Put the cheers on paper before each game;
        5. Yell out the # of the cheer you want and let them have it.

        All it takes is a few people to step up.

          How about a whistle chant like the Bridge of the River Kwai.

            Seriously, nobody else remembers this? When opposite sides of HLA were screaming this, the place was shaking.

            And "The Warriors" wasn't a bad cult movie, it was an EPIC cult movie.

              I remember it well. I also seem to recall doing it at football games, but I can't remember what time frame. Late 70s maybe?

                    Ohh snapppp. The coach's show is tonight!! Totally forgot. Thanks for the heads up!!!!!

                    If true, I hope it only takes a couple games to get people going. It looks a little gimmicky to have it on the board for any longer than for fans to know it. Once they know it, it should disappear.

                    ... No really, deuces.

                      If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

                          Personally, I like the MTXE suggestion:

                          M...T...X...E
                          M-T-X-E-Go Shocks!

                          To get the cadence right, go to a City League game featuring Southeast or East; it's not hard.

                          On another note. Ricky -- why would anyone "happen to be" in College Station, Texas, on a Friday night? That's not a place you end up by accident -- kind of like "happening to be" in a larger (and, yes, much more tradition-steeped) version of Manhattan, Kansas..

                            I agree...I like the simple M T X E. Maybe using arm gestures to spell the letters out when it's being shouted would be pretty cool.

                              E-mailed WSU's Director of Bands and this was the response:

                              "We have discussed publishing the lyrics so the fans can join in with the cheer. I've forwarded your message to the current head director of the basketball band and a few of the Athletic people. Hopefully we can get this done."

                              Sounds like they are aware the lyrics need to be published to get more involved. FYI stuff for all.
                              When your not practicing, someone somewhere is and when you meet him...he'll beat you.

                                Thanks! Why did it take Shockernetters to get this done?
