Official WSU vs. Iowa, Cancun Challenge game thread

There weren't a whole lot of Iowa fans here to begin with. Wichita State played about as well as they could have played, and Iowa failed to match their intensity all game long. The Hawks played pretty poorly (a lot of that had to do with WSU), and they were still in it until the last minute. If Iowa can develop any continuity on the offensive end, they should be alright. Obviously, if WSU plays like they did tonight, there aren't a whole lot of teams in the country they are going to lose to.

Good luck the rest of the year. I certainly won't be rooting for you (Many of your players rubbed me the wrong way. I don't think I've seen that much complaining after foul calls since the Heat in the NBA playoffs last year), but you should have a pretty good year regardless.

Relax son. We aren't anywhere near our ceiling. Don't start with the fouls.....you're going to have a hard time competing in the Big10 if you can't body up. It's a man's game, and the men won.

That makes no sense. Why wouldn't you root for all of your non conference opponents? There are some bad teams in the Big 10 so you will need all the help you can get if you are on the bubble.

Coach smiled on the bench more than I have ever seen him smile during a game tonight. He is enjoying this team....A LOT. I am sure it is great having such coachable and mature young men playing for you. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

BS. They played great to get the Shox to this game. So they have a bad few minutes. That does not mean they are not special for the team.

Early was not late and scored 25. "To God be the glory" Early just exclaimed." We knew Iowa could NOT sustain the 3 point accuracy of the 1st half. Our interior D was tough. We just refused to quit fouling but we did most everything else to my liking. We brought home the gold and that rocks.(49 years overdo) We won ugly but win we did. I like 2nd halfs like this one. We do quite well as Shocks versus the Big 10.

6-0 this Season. Who would have known before the Season started? EO had a nice game and did not step out of his element. Malcom is just the point guard we need and FVV is learning. Bring on Tulsa!!! We will be ready!!!

Agreed. We're seeing HCGM hit his stride as a coach for the first time this year.

Amen. If this game had been played with Big 10 officials, we would have smoked them by 25+. Iowa got the vast majority of their points at the line, and in their own league, most of those plays wouldn't have been called fouls.
