EO is learning.

It seemed to me that Fred looked pretty calm and collected, when he was on the floor. I thought he looked quite a bit more relaxed and confident than he did in the NC-C game.
I am extra glad that he got the minutes.
He also had by my count 5 near or assisted steals.
Fred's minutes were sensational imho, and I am becoming more excited by the minute. If he can play like that in game 2 against a top 40 club on the road......

It's going to be fun watching EO develop this year. He just looks better and better each game. His defensive presence is undeniable. And he's barely getting the attention of the refs.. Who woulda thunk it?

1. Because EO in the first couple of minutes committed a turnover & almost committed another by fumbling a pass, therefore proving to 3G that he wouldn't be dependable during the crucial points of the game.
2. Reddic backed him down twice & scored easily, but the shots were altered (lol).
3. Reddic also got 5 offensive rebounds, but wait...I'm sure those probably happened when Carl was guarding him.
I going to fast for you Cold?
4. Pop quiz for you Cold...in 16 minutes of play, guess how many rebounds EO had? ONE (1).
I did like his aggressiveness when he went strong & got fouled. I could care less how the free throws looked (3G got a good chuckle out of the first one), they went in.
EO & Lufile will get ample time in the next 2 games to continue to work on things. I'll watch how it shakes out from my corner...if I could just find it.
Great win Shox...keep it up!!!

The same

Same deal. Once a player has 'gathered the ball' in driving towards the basket and fouled, he is considered in the act of shooting and free throws will be awarded.
The premise is not to reward a foul or poor defense.Above all, make the right call.

I just want to mention a few things about EO:
1. He is 5th on our team in scoring.
2. The combination of him, Hall, and Early is defining our defense. We are blocking 29% of shots at the rim. Kentucky last year blocked 19%.
3. Last game, he didn't get rebounds because he wasn't close to the rim and Reddic was the only person on the court that could make shots. VCU deliberately kept EO's man near the perimeter to keep him away from the paint, and it seemed like he never got opportunities on offense (no idea why, we missed plenty of shots).
