Yeah, there are games you can use to build depth. Playing at VCU isn't one of those games. Coach shortened his bench so they could win the game.

        • How was Shaka at the end of the game? Did he do his usual blow past GM routine?

Nah, there was a brief pause and handshake. They had the 2 coaches mic'd up and they showed them talking before the game. It was obviously very forced and uncomfortable for both coaches. They didn't look like they really wanted to be talking to each other LOL.

The last 2 years we've been so solid on D but this team absolutely GETS FREAKING AFTER IT on D.

And I LOVE the hustle on the floor getting loose balls....freaking LOVE IT!

People will look at the shooting % and think it was poorly played but the other team had a lot to do with those %s.

Great win, yet so many different ways to get better.

                That is all.
I really don't believe that Fred had three turnovers in five minutes of play. I will watch the video tomorrow and check it out.

It seemed to me that Fred looked pretty calm and collected, when he was on the floor. I thought he looked quite a bit more relaxed and confident than he did in the NC-C game.

I am extra glad that he got the minutes.

I didn't see him after the game, but ESPNU showed him doing some shimmy movement a few times when his team was doing well. Kind of like a Hawaiian war dance or something.

Shaka kind of reminds me of vinegar and water.

                  • I'm trying to figure out how you guys can write all these posts in the middle of a game like that. I couldn't take my focus off the TV long enough to do anything except say a few cuss words...

                    • Not only did they shake hands, they talked and patted each other on the back several times. Not sure what GM said to Shaka though. Anyone able to read lips? Maybe they discussed playing again sometime.

                      • 15.8% from three; 35% overall and 62.5% FT. I cannot find points off turnovers, but I hazard a guess we had more than they.

Armstead, Baker, Williams, Hall and Cotton all played well, even if nobody could make a $^$$* shot. How many did we miss from less than one foot?

I thought they had a very cordial exchange after such an intense game.

I think we have the same concern.

Carl Hall missed more bunnies than he did all last year. I am sure it was freakish event.

Mal is 0-8 from 3 on the season.

Ron was 3-8 tonight and 2-7 from 3. One 3 ball went down and came back out.

                            Evan was 1-3.

Even though EO's line is not anything to write home about, he was an intimidating, effective defensive force.

I am worried about shot making from perimeter players. Tonight we were 10/32..
