I don't see a line up without Baker and Wessel - at least right now. Those guys were very impressive.

Starting 5 monday?

I'm starting to really like Wiggins and Early off the bench. Turn the race horses loose on tired legs and let them have some fun. Same thing happens if an opponent goes to fresh legs when those 2 come in. Those 2 against about anybody's second line players is almost unfair.
I'm starting to see a starting group that stays with the starters last Monday. First substitution wave includes White, Early, and Williams (Hall moves to the post). That puts Hall against a guy who's been running the court trying tro keep up with Orukpe for 4 - 6 minutes, and brings in 2 burners in Early and Williams. Use Wiggins for spot minutes at either SG or SF - that would be situational - like needing 10 points in the next 4 minutes.
I'm starting to think the last 5 minutes of the first half and the last 5 minutes of the game will be OWNED by the Shox. Not only lots of fresh legs, but some very athletic , fast, and quick fresh legs. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

He may shorten his bench for selected opponents, but I think we will see a lot of guys getting decent PT this year.
As I've said before who starts is of little import IMHO. I believe our depth will be a big weapon for this team, but time will tell on exactly how deep 3G wants to play it.
If we are able to use our depth to our advantage that can give us nice advantage over the last 1/3rd of the season and into post-season play.

After the first exhibition, I think our starting line-up may look like:
Armstead/Baker/Early/Hall/Orukpe (assuming Williams is still hurt).
The first substitution, likely by the first media timeout would be Wessel for Orukpe. That would give:
Armstead/Baker/Wessel/Early/Hall.
The next three would be Wiggins, Williams, and Cotton. Eventually, Lufile will get some minutes. I think our final minute numbers will end up:
Hall>Armstead>Wessel>Baker>Early>Williams>Orukpe>C otton>Wiggins
That is a 9-man rotation, and this will be the majority of the minutes. Not included are Van Vleet, White, and Lufile, who may still get up to 10 minutes a game (Van Vleet has the potential to replace one of the above rotation players).

I was doing the Prouty ratings for the Pitt State game, and Wiggins had the third highest rating on the team. If he can continue to finish at the rim, he brings a unique skill to the team that White really doesn't right now (I view White's strengths as rebounding and outside shooting, and we should be good at those without him).

Which actually was the majority of my point. If I was trying to use Prouty numbers to make my case, I would have. Besides, I think that those types of statistical measurements are worth far more than you seem to think, at least in terms of evaluating player and team skills, but in this case I was mostly going by the eye test. Yes, Wiggins had a high score in the Prouty ratings, but the real argument was that his skills are more valuable to the team right now.

He looked awesome with the ball. His stat line was really good. He just got some eye rolls and talks from Marshall because of hustle on the defensive end/rebounding effort. That was my take. Liability? Not at all. He looks good, but I think Marshall is trying to lift his ceiling into the stratosphere so he talks about him and to him like he's just not ready. Maybe I'm wrong but that was what it looked like to me. He is effortless with the ball. Makes scoring look easy and is going to embarrass defenders in the valley

Wiggins had a nice game. I just think that Marshall is going to use playing time, starting lineups, etc. to bring the best out of players (yes, he will play some mind games) and I'm patient enough to let him work his magic. He'll also use practices that we don't see. He expects players to put out all the time. I remember Smithson saying about practice "Let's go to War". Marshall expects the same effort. The tree will shake out in the end.
