It's funny Aargh, you use words like true, partly right, correct, wild guess as though your word is the gospel just cause you say so. And trust me I'm not delusional to think my words are any better. But then you say "where is it written" about segments of minutes. Well, where is it written that Aargh has the corner on the predictive accuracy of EO's fate this season?
Just out of curiosity, what statistical numbers do you think his 20, 22, 24 minutes will produce? I'll hang up and listen.
You are really starting to become obnoxious with your anti-EO bit. Earlier you gave your opinion which is fine, but now you are trying to build a supreme court case on how EO is going to suck this year. You should be more concerned with what I got cookin' in the kitchen with your name on it...
There's no way to know today whether my optimistic outlook or your pessimistic outlook will be the correct perspective by the end of the year. The last 3 decent post players WSU have had were Troy Mack, Paul Miller, J.T.Durley (?? - converted PF), and Garrett Stutz. Guess what all those guys had in common?
A lot that EO doesn't.
Miller and Durley had played more than 2000 D-I minutes coming into their senior year, Stutz over 1500. The lowest mpg for any of these 3 was 12.5 by Stutz his freshman year and he played more minutes that year than EO has total. Even Mack was considered a "starter" his sophmore year averaging just over 6 ppg.
EO has 350 minutes of D-I experience, played less than 8 mpg last year and averaged 1.3 ppg. Compared to these 4 other bigs, he has had about 1 year of D-I basketball maturity. Do I hope he has a great season, sure. Does he have the physical where for all, yes. However, I would think for him to play 12-13 mpg and average 5 ppg would be a good sized step.
You hope all players improve each year and it does take bigs longer to "get there". Unfortunately, in comparison to the other bigs you mentioned, EO may still need a year or two to get there and that time isn't available to him in college.
Here's to hoping that his physical being will lead to a bigger season than I anticipate.
No one knows how effective EO will be or how many minutes HC3G will give him other than HC3G. We have White and Early at the 4 if Hall has to play the 5 for extended minutes and Hall seems to like the 5 spot. We can also do a four out one in type offense that we did with Creighton last year with Hall and White being the one in, but then again Creighton couldn't defend anyone last year.
Nobody actually "knows" how many minutes or how productive any player will be; there are varied opinions, and we can all state them. Stating them over and over again does not make them any more relevant or true. To me, it's not drinking kool aid to think EO might get 15-20 minutes and average 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Now, if I said 25 minutes, 12 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks....well, to me that would be superstar status...I don't expect that. Negative individuals might predict something like 8 minutes, 3 points, 4 rbs, and 1 block. That could happen too; any of these scenarios COULD happen.
A lot will depend on the development or lack of development of others. Myself, I choose the middle ground. I don't think I expect too much, but I am not going to expect to little either. Either way, it's going to be a fun an interesting season just seeing the development and how it all shakes out.
Pay no attention to shoxmvc... For the last three years he has picked on our bigs. Call it small man syndrome, call it what you will, he just doesn't feel bigger players are the way to go...

Facts aren't exactly your strong suit. Putting the "small man syndrome" tag on me is funny. Your the one key stroking negative names. Try stepping up and doing what a fan board is designed to do. State your case.
I have nothing against going big. I'm not sure what you mean by "picking on our bigs." I love what Stutz and Durley did for this program. Did I present some observations along the way (along with everyone else on SN), sure. Did I back my case a few years ago when the topic of red shirting Aaron Ellis (a career 3 ppg/2 rpg through junior year player) came up? Yes. Why? Because it made no sense and it didn't happen thank goodness. Do I like Ellis for what his skill set brought to the table? You bet.
I love bigs. Ours, just like all teams', has its pros and cons. Something commonly discussed on fan boards. I was much more critical about David Kyles. DK underachieved as much as any player in this program IMO. Was he a fine young man? Yes. And I am glad he choose WSU. I wouldn't change that for the world. Just like I wouldn't change any player coming to WSU in recent years.
I don't apologize for having an opinion about EO or any other player. It doesn't mean I wish bad-will at any point in the process. It simply means on a "fan board" I have an opinion. And for the most part I do it with reasonable language and tone. Just because you and others don't agree, that's fine, but have some substance when you post for the 142nd time please.

...
Obnoxious...isn't that the pot calling the kettle black (lol). You are probably one of the most entertaining poster in SN history. Can you be obnoxious...YES. But I wouldn't trade reading your posts for all the money in Fort Knox (oh, I forgot there is no money anymore).
I am not anti-EO. I thought this was a fan board. Sharing observations and opinions and keeping people reined in are a couple of reasons to post. That's what you do. That's what the great majority do on this, and other fan boards. You attempt to keep people reined in on MVCFANS.
Just because I don't share in the EO is a 20+ minute, double-double king player this year doesn't make me anti-EO. I just bring the realistic logic to the conversation...that's all. When EO is on the floor this year I, just like all other fans, will be on the edge of my seat. No, not waiting for him to screw up, but hoping his minutes (somewhere around 12 per game) are filled with results that help my Shockers win the game.
As for your kitchen, I didn't picture you as a metropolitan man wife. I wish our kitchen was that clean. I wish you had one more lemon, cause if the crow is on the menu (and I don't anticipate that happening), I will require lemon, tobasco sauce and anything that masks the crow. Keep up the good work!
I was not around for Troy Mack. My first games were in 2002 at the coliseum.
All on the other post players blossomed offensively in my opinion... But maybe ive forgotten some details. Maybe what we are going to see is a player blossom defensively. Maybe his huge senior year will be blocks, good post d, rebounding and a better job of limiting fouls. Not necessarily big points, but who knows.
If EO blossoms into only that, we still win games.

I'm sure you are prepared to eat crow in March if the team does well and EO accomplishes the tasks HCGM asks him too, whatever they are. (The tasks we "assign" him are worth less than flatulence in the wind.)
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful: Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

A good point. If EO started for UE as an underclassman, he would probably be more advanced than he is now.

There is no eating crow about the team doing well. I believe we will finish 2nd in the league, at least get to Sunday in STL, win 25 games & go dancing. EO will certainly be a reason we do that. He just won't be the second coming of Bill Russell.

Oh No. I really wanted Russell to play for us. :chargrined: :frown-new: :hopelessness:

Haha well no. When people dog EO, I take it to mean they think he will sit on the bench all year this year too. If you think he can help us to the dance and have a good senior year for us, then I think we all pretty much agree on some level. I know this much... If he sucks, I will be super disappointed.
EO has once again proved that he is above thread hijacking. He belongs in ALL threads. He transcends the message board. How did he find his way into this thread too. I love that guy.
I personally am enjoying this, and I don't think I even started it this time. I hope I didn't at least but I won't go back and look.
Okay I gave up and re read this board. Here is what I came up with. Green redshirts probably. No one else does probably, and regardless of who redshirts, EO takes over the discussion once we have the redshirting figured out because he has magical powers.
