If you hate the state of college basketball or college athletics in general, that’s how you fix it. You don’t even acknowledge that it exists. At some point, the TV money will dry up.
Granted, this next part is fictitious, but I always wondered why Rudy’s dad only watched Notre Dame football. He scoffed at the notion of checking on a Purdue game at halftime. Now, in my advanced years, I understand it. I pretty much only care about the Broncos, the Yankees, and any WSU team.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

Wisconsin refused to enter Lucas into the portal after he requested a transfer, but he's off to Miami regardless in a groundbreaking move that may have ramifications across college football.

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In the midst of the annual NCAA convention, and in a potential precedent-setting move, a football player is transferring to another institution without entering the transfer portal and after signing a revenue-sharing contract with his previous school...."
Screw NCAA rules.
Screw your portal.
Screw the fact that I signed a contract.
I'm going to do whatever the hell I want to do.

I mean, I get it. The fanbase as a whole is incredibly annoying. But I was drawn to the mythical history of the Yankees as a kid, and it has always stuck.78-65

Then when NIL started, it became all about individuals getting paid for their individual worth (property rights). It turned into - straight up - Pay For Play w/ presumably much of those funds coming from government supported institutions again.
This brings Title IX right back into the forefront. And it's a beautiful thing IMO. The greedy bastards are hanging themselves with their own rope.
Big fan of Title IX right now. Would love to see every bag of money dropped on a quarterback also have to go to a random girl's lacrosse player. LMFBO!
That'll hasten the implosion and then we will see where the chips fall (and if we end up in a better place within them).
Chaos/destruction/rebirth is really our only hope at this point.

I think they should, I also think they should on their NIL money.Institution Location State Income Tax University of Alabama at Birmingham Birmingham, Alabama Yes East Carolina University Greenville, N. Carolina Yes Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton, Florida University of Memphis Memphis, Tennessee Univ of North Carolina at Charlotte Charlotte, North Carolina Yes University of North Texas Denton, Texas Rice University Houston, Texas University of South Florida Tampa, Florida Temple University Philadelphia, Penn Yes University of Texas at San Antonio San Antonio, Texas Tulane University New Orleans, Louisiana Yes University of Tulsa Tulsa, Oklahoma Yes Wichita State University Wichita, Kansas Yes
For Kansas Athletes, "Residents must file a Kansas Individual Income Tax return if their gross income exceeds $5,000. Non-residents and part-year residents must file if they have income from Kansas sources. The deadline for these returns is April 15, aligning with the federal deadline."
This is just an estimate as a non-CPA or tax attorney, I would think you would have to an annual NIL Deal of at least $150,000 to it that threshold for nonresident athletes,
$150,000 / 30 games = $5,000.

Recruiting any more is a combination of how much you can convince a player to play for you and how much money you can give a player to play for you.
If Mills needs more than other schools in the AAC need, then he's not as good at the part about convincing players that they want to play for him. His game plan and offensive schemes seem to be ideally suited for "me first" players. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
