They could still leave and you'd still owe them the money. At least that's how it was talked about early on.

Make it like every other contract with buyout clauses

Too bad I'm not callin' the shots.

        My aim is...

lmao. That level of delusion is right up there with UNI’s annual at large bid and helicopters landing in springpatch with invites to the sunbelt.

        • Former FSU basketball players sue FSU's coach over failed promises to deliver $250,000 NIL payments. They've got some text messages, which are written evidence, although it isn't specified if the promises are in those writings.

Six former FSU basketball players have sued coach Leonard Hamilton, alleging he failed on a promise to get each of them $250,000 in NIL compensation.

          • Florida State not exactly jumping in to defend coach Hamilton:

"We support Coach Hamilton's right to defend himself against these allegations and look forward to an expeditious resolution of this matter," the university said in a statement.

Looks like FSU is wanting to stay out of it.

Goes to show how many major schools really have very little NIL

In a way, I don't care. If I want to watch professionals, I'll watch the real thing.

I think there will be a good number of unfortunate souls who think they're rich until they run out of money before they're 30 (if that).

It will be interesting to see what schools do when players don't perform up to their "pay grade". A number of scenarios, none of them good for the players. Schools might "fire" some players (your services are no longer wanted).
