Beakers to Iowa State? I wouldn’t have known. It should startle the powers-that-be that this former rabid sports fan in Kansas has literally not watched a second of live action of “The Flagship” this season…and have had very limited doses of watching highlights.

If you hate the state of college basketball or college athletics in general, that’s how you fix it. You don’t even acknowledge that it exists. At some point, the TV money will dry up.

Granted, this next part is fictitious, but I always wondered why Rudy’s dad only watched Notre Dame football. He scoffed at the notion of checking on a Purdue game at halftime. Now, in my advanced years, I understand it. I pretty much only care about the Broncos, the Yankees, and any WSU team.

Even as much as I am NOT a beaker fan, in the past I would catch enough coverage via local sports coverage and social media posts to at least know a few names of players on the beaker squad. Other than Hunter Whatshisname (Dickinson? Davidson? Douchebagson?) I don't think I could name a single player.

Yeah, I got that fandom from my mom. And I was rooting for them in the late 80s and early 90s before they got really good.

I mean, I get it. The fanbase as a whole is incredibly annoying. But I was drawn to the mythical history of the Yankees as a kid, and it has always stuck.

The reason it makes logical sense now - in an insane world - is because the spirit of Title IX was to promote gender inclusivity in institutions that were receiving government aid.

Then when NIL started, it became all about individuals getting paid for their individual worth (property rights). It turned into - straight up - Pay For Play w/ presumably much of those funds coming from government supported institutions again.

This brings Title IX right back into the forefront. And it's a beautiful thing IMO. The greedy bastards are hanging themselves with their own rope.

Big fan of Title IX right now. Would love to see every bag of money dropped on a quarterback also have to go to a random girl's lacrosse player. LMFBO!

That'll hasten the implosion and then we will see where the chips fall (and if we end up in a better place within them).
