Today we lost to a much better team respectably. Against K-State we lost to a moderately better team than us terribly. I'll take this loss over that one any day. But losing sucks.

Not sure I am buying that losing to a team by 19 in a game that really wasn't that close is respectable, even if it's the nations #2 ranked team. That's just a little bit too accepting of medicrity for me even if it was pretty much expected. We can and must do better.

I legit thought when we tied it 14-14 we had a chance to bother them for the first half. But the very next play, as WuDrWu called out, the momentum swung against us. Losing QB for extended minutes in the first half coupled with losing Bijan to the twisted ankle (or whatever) for the entirety of the game was a death knell for any hope.

You’d think that they would be concerned about their lack of quality bench. That problem will probably make them be a first weekend victim in March.

My expectations are probably not a high as most on this board but I do expect better from this team even this year.

Couple of thoughts, DR hustles, but gets lost on defense, but hustles. Bell won’t or can’t pass the ball, Coach Mills needs to show the replay of IA’s driving layup using two hands on the shot and absorbing the contact/foul to score a tough layup. Bell, Pohto and Beverly need to watch that replay a hundred times a day. I am struggling to support those three players when they continually shoot in the lane or layups in traffic with one hand. KU is good not great and we are neither right now…

Seemed like the players had zero energy from the tip. Like they were just going through the motions. Like they were just waiting to lose.

Dunno if it was a Christmas hangover or what but I knew from watching the first minute of the game what the outcome was gonna be.

I sensed the same thing, uninspired blasé play out of the gate. XB could have secured the opening tip but let some beaker take his lunch money.
What does it take to come out and take it to your opponents, no matter who you are playing.
