  • The way things are going, the NCAA won't even be able to require academic eligibility.

Just have Textron hire him for a consultant job, while sleeping in 4-5 days per week. I don’t think taking any school hours is necessary, as long as he’d list Aeronautical Engineering as his Major.

While they’re at it, the courts will say it’s illegal to limit college to 4 years of playing. Lots of kids take 7 years to graduate.

          • So, assuming Cortes gets his approval this week, and that he was in a boot (undisclosed injury-ankle presumably), and if he wasn’t able to play in the next game or two because if it…would he elect just to sit out the year?

If his ankle is ok, assuming he gets approved, one would think he would suit up Thursday…just a guess though.

            Anyone heard anything?

Waiting to play until next year to save an eligibility also would take on the assumption that he would want to go back to school for an extra year. I'm guessing if he gets eligible, he chooses to play.

              • Well the NCAA doesn't have to review any of the multiple transfer waivers anymore so hopefully they have time to turn their attention to academic waivers at this point!

The boot was just a "poker face" showing kstate and ku that they don't have to scout for him or Wichita St. having a point guard ready to go. ;)

I thought everyone was trying to play 6 years now with the Covid waiver
