Ok I wasn't quite sure who gets the bulk of PF, and thought you were saying Hall would.

    • Even if EO is a starter, I don't see him getting more than 20 minutes a game still. I would love to see him contribute with more minutes, but I'm guessing his bball IQ still isn't where it needs to be. I'm just looking forward to the possibility of a souvenir ball, courtesy of Orupke.

Going to be a lot of those.

          • Once a coach says, "EO knows he's the starter", that makes the apparent depth chart pretty obvious

            C: Orukpe - Lufile
            PF: Hall - Whita
SF: Early - Wiggins - Wessel
            SG: DWill - Cotton/Baker/Wiggins - YIKES!
            PG; Armstead - DWill/VanVleet

That's a pretty salty 5-in/5-out rotation and leaves the coaches trying to figure out how to get Wiggins and Baker some more minutes. I'm guessing that Wiggins will lead the non-starters in minutes. Finishing out close games could easily be Hall, Early, Wiggins, DWill, and Armstead. In some situations, Baker might be on the floor at the end of a game.

            • Agree Aargh. Still a lot of "in-game" options there.

YIKES is right. I'm chuckling to myself because we have Mitchell, too. It already looks chock full of guys on that list and we have to find a way to fit even another in who actually has quite the resume himself. My guess is the players will all be told that if they mess anything up, they are on the bench immediately for a rotation...and if they sneeze, glance at the scoreboard, or even think about what to eat later after the game, they are toast. no pun intended. Only perfection will be able to keep you on the court for most of the game.

                  • I do love the depth we have at each and every position.

                    C - Ehimen, Hall, Lufile
PF - Hall, White, Lufile, Early
SF - Early, Wiggins, Baker, Wessel, Green, Vautravers
SG - Williams, Wiggins, Baker, Cotton, Green, Mitchell
PG - Armstead, Williams, Cotton, FVV, Mitchell

That's at least three players at each position. And at least three players at each position that could contribute and compete for more minutes than we have to go around.

IF Hawkins shows up, I don't expect him to be eligible to play this year and will have to take a redshirt. If that happens, I see at least one, if not two, other redshirts.

It is his to lose, so he will be in busting his balls day and day out to make good on it.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Logic says that Green redshirts. I was talking to someone back in March and he said that Green did not want to redshirt at WSU, but this person thought Green would need to and even told Green he would benefit from it (let's just say he was influential at recuruting Green to WSU). I would be willing to bet that the physicality of D1 ball is much greater than Green, or any other high school player is expecting. Ron Baker was smart to volunteer for the RS last season.
