My understanding regarding this responsibility at Wichita State is that Korey Torgerson, who has been doing this for a long time, is very experienced, competent and well respected by the Shocker coaching staffs.

Let's see how he does with the waiver on Ronnie DeGray:

Whether DeGray will be available to the Shockers immediately remains a question, however. With the NCAA attempting to crack down on second-time transfers, DeGray will need to apply for a waiver from the NCAA because he has already transferred before — joining Missouri from Massachusetts after the 2020-21 season.

DeGray did not specify the type of waiver WSU will be submitting to the NCAA, but added “I believe I will be able to play right away.” According to a source in the program, the staff believes he has “legitimate” reasons to receive a waiver and WSU has already begun the process to file the necessary paperwork.

    • If your coach Mills… how long do you let Pohto practice with your team without being on your team ?

3+ weeks is a little ridiculous.

why does Pohto need to commit to the cow when he gets the milk for free

          It's one of the she's. :)

Overseeing that an important waiver gets approved is not in the wheelhouse of an attorney at KU with the title "Senior Associate General Counsel and Deputy Athletic Director for Compliance and Legal Affairs"?

Would you like a glass of water before you respond, counselor?

I will grant you that the KU Tiddlywinks team waivers go 100% through their Director of Compliance and never makes it to an attorney at KU. For this discussion I am saying that if Bill Self walks down to the Director of Compliance and says "this kid MUST get approved, period". Then that General Counsel member is definitely involved in some way shape or form to put their best foot forward.

Agreed, when you have 3 scholarships left no reason to force an ultimatum.

We have been getting waivers for our marquee program denied pretty consistently for a long time.

Was he overseeing compliance when our baseball team vacated wins due to handing out coupons?

Obviously he's a nice guy. Probably a great guy. But is he the _right_ guy?

not an ultimatum but when something lingers in a sales environment ; your chance to land the sale goes down dramatically. There are ways to put pressure without over stepping boundaries , I’m sure Mills is doing in the right way.

Taylor mentioned on Twitter that hes linked to Texas Tech now. Yikes

                      • Zuby Ejiofor, KU, has entered the portal. He's 6'9" and 240. Didn't have much in the way of stats and may be looking to move to a program where he can get more PT. 3 years of eligibility and immediately available.

That is nutso for sure , but I am under the impression we have far more than 500k. Would have to imagine we were in on Abmas for somewhere around that amount (500).
