    • Players who have been able to combine the free covid year with graduating in 4 years or getting released by their schools have had a lot of freedom to see the country and play at 3 or 4 different programs. 2 more years until all the covid freshmen are cleared from the system.

      • The portal really shouldn't open until after the nets are cut down in April. It creates a disadvantage to programs that go deep in March.

I see plenty of teams playing still meeting with Portal recruits. It really hurts the teams that dont have coaches right now lol

Can you provide an example of NCAAT teams meeting with recruits beyond scholarship offers? Maybe I've missed something, but I was under the impression that teams in the NCAAT would primarily be focused on the NCAAT. Sure they could maybe "meet" with recruits on Zoom or through a lower-level staffer, but that's not the same as a team not in the NCAAT.

Louisville, for example has Illinois transfer Skyy Clark coming for an official visit. I don't think Alabama has the bandwidth to do the same right now.

I know Memphis has met with a couple portal candidates. And yes meet can mean zoom IMO.

I still don't see why they can't wait a few weeks to give everyone a level playing field. Meeting on Zoom vs. official visit or in-home visit are not the same thing.

I like it...kind of like the playoffs equating to draft picks, the non playoff teams get better picks which in theory should keep the playing field more even.

Yeah it's not my biggest gripe with the NCAA because I do see some upside but I'm still a stickler for fairness haha

                    • Jameer Nelson, Jr. in the portal. Son of former St. Josephs great and NBA'er of the same name. Put up some big numbers this year, albeit at Delaware.

                      • Why would Shammah Scott leave? The guy who wouldn't put him in the lineup is gone.

                        • Eddie Lampkin, Jr. in portal from TCU. Shockers offered him out of HS.

Is this the guy whose mom has accused Dixon of being an abusive racist?

If he didn't have that whole situation with Jamie Dixon, I would take him in a second.

                                As is, buyer beware.
