I can make an argument that paying 5 players at $200k per player a years for two years may be a better investment than a new coach. It’s finding the right five players to pay that is the dilemma.

If we can keep our top returning 8 players, from the portal or Jucos we need at least 5 players more players that are really good. We need 2 pt.guards, 2 pf. and 1 player that is so good, we just sign him no matter what position he plays. The 2 pt. Guards could be 1 Portal proven player and a Juco star. Everything you said is true and therein lies the problem for schools that can’t just say “you hit the portal and you are gone from our program” because they have no one better lined up to take their place.
