"True" PG's on recent WSU rosters
-2016 - Fred VanVleet, Ty Taylor (How'd that backup PG work out?)
-2017 - Was Daishon Smith a "true" PG - I can't remember much about him, Kaelen Malone (walkon) , J.R. Simon (walkon)
-2018 - Samajae Haynes-Jones (?), Kaelen Malone (walkon)
-2019 - Ricky Torres, Samajae Haynes-Jones, Eli Farrakhan
-2020 - Noah Fernandes, Grant Sherfield
-2021 - Alterique Gilbert, (Porter was primarily a SG that year)
-2022 - Qua Grant (Porter began transitioning to PG that year)
-2023 - Porter, Shammah Scott
There were actual point guards on teams after FVV. Gilbert and Porter were effective. Other than those two, there's a lot of 1-year guys and a lot of ho-hum guys. Bell can probably be nearly as effective as Haynes-Jones and that would put him in the mid-range of the PG's after FVV. And I'm not certain Haynes-Jones wasn't a "combo" and not a "true" PG.
