And we have him, Baker, and Wessel for the next three years.

More than likely have Wessel for the next three, depends on his injury hardship.

Regardless. We can enjoy it for some time to come.

            • FreshVV is a Top 100 player being groomed to quarterback us both in the here and now and also onward towards our bright future. He must have ice-wata in his veins because that 25' shot was heard around the whole Milky Way.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

              • Hey Rockford,
Thanks for helping make Fred what he is - and many of us have been on his bandwagon since his senior year in highschool (or, before).

I mentioned to my wife during the game, can you imagine the hundreds of high school kids who played against him just last year watching that game and going, "Wow - I played with him a year ago."

                PRetty cool.

Ever since the team checked into a hotel in California?

                      • I think this is also a very compelling article about Fred's father being killed when he was 5 - and puts into perspective the things he has overcome to be the person and athlete he is. I have so much respect for Fred and his family, regardless of his performances - but, he just keeps on bringing it. eh?

                          • For Wichita State’s Fred VanVleet, the big shot is nothing new
Six people in Rockford, Ill., gathered in the living room of Fred VanVleet’s house to watch Saturday’s Wichita State game against Gonzaga in the NCAA Tournament. When their boy made that shot, they experienced all the typical emotions, except surprise.

“It was a Fred shot,” said Sue VanVleet, his mother. “He makes those shots all the time.”

The story of Fred VanVleet making that shot starts in fourth grade with one-on-one basketball games at 6 a.m., with him deciding basketball and school offered a way to earn a scholarship and with his parents demanding he stay away from drugs and gangs and other troubles easily available in Rockford.

The 3 was nice....er, extra nice, but I loved the 4 free throws at crunch time. The ball did not touch the rim. Just net.

I told Señora Rio that the Zags fouled Double V because he is a freshman and will be nervous at the line. If that was the case, then the Zags made an error in judgment.
