I have decided it would be proper for all Shocker fans in support of our coach, follow the MVC lead and self-impose 1-year ban from attending Archmadness in 2013.
I am sure the conference and the St Louis merchants would easily make up the lost revenue with an influx of fair weather fans from the 8 other schools.
Seriously, I say hit 'em where it hurts, in the bank account. I've attended this event for 16 consecutive years and am tired of the drive and the cost of gas, escalating downtown lodging prices with fewer and fewer amenities, over priced parking and concessions and a conference office that obviously takes WSU and CU fans for granted. Scott trade would have been an absolute Mausoleum if the only ones attending would be the family and friends of the other 8 teams. I've seen the attendance ebb and flow the past 10 years because a couple other teams would have good attendance for a couple years. But the only 2 constants are WSU and CU. When I first started going in 97 and the next few years they didnt even open up the upper bowl area.
We know this event has got to fund a lot of MVC functions and probably the paychecks of fat and sassy local ST Louis staffers who could give a ratsazz about the people paying their way. Time to get their attention and see if they miss the revenue brought in by 4000 of Shocker Nation.
I for one will not return in 2013!
Go Shocks!!

How about we only buy from scalpers or other fans. We stay somewhere in Illinois and refuse to spend money at the arena or that area.
Better?Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

Maybe we'd have a better shot at Arch Madness if the Shocker fans were cheering from their homes.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'

Some thoughts:
- I was disappointed in the post game reaction initially, but came around to the fact that this is part of what makes GM the coach he is - and it comes as part of a package.
- If an employee of mine (putting muself in Eric Sexton's shoes) drafted the response Greg sent out today, I would have insisted he lose the last sentence to simply protect him. There is nothing to gain here by saying, essentially, FU. And, if he sent it out without discussing it with me, we would have a serious discussion about it. I think part of Eric's job is to provide counsel to Greg and help protect him - of course, it is possible he did just that and we are seeing the "sanitized" version.
- A smart boss told me a long time ago "If you take the high road you won't find much traffic there", and it has proven itself many times. I don't think this is any different. You have to pick your hills to fight your battles and some are just not worth it.
- i really do love Marshall as our coach, but I honestly think he has backed Elgin in a corner with his response - almost a dare - and Elgin could play his ace and suspend Greg for a game in the NCAAs - I truly hope that does not happen, but there are some big egos in play here.
- This might get me slammed, but I wonder if the same scenario had occured on Sunday with the same game dynamics and Greg Mcdermott made the same comments what people here would think - just wondering - but, I'll answer that myself - I have to come to realize the word "fan" indeed does come from the word "fanatic" - and we need fans who feel that strongly about our coach, our players, our team. I am proud to be one.
-If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

But you know if the idea got some wind behind it I'm sure someone would explain to the players it is not a statement directed toward them.
Hell, they might play like isuB did last year in front of their faculty and family and relax enough to win it all.
