The IQ of the team is a reflection of the accountability which the players are held to by the Coach. There is not a culture of accountability. That is not what a players coach cultivates.Last edited by Ashockalypse; January 30, 2022, 10:44 PM.

I think we would have looked like colossal assholes not hiring IB after last season. Maybe we could have used our postseason performance as an "out," but that's a stretch.
I think we were pretty much locked in to the point where IB was the best option because he became the only option, save someone with ties to the program like Jans.
It's tough to look back and figure out what was working for us last year under IB that is not working for us this year. We had Gilbert and Wade. Wade gave us a pretty good 4 and Gilbert was a true PG. We also had some pretty fortunate covid-forfeits.
Perhaps a first warning sign is that we did not retain Wade and Gilbert for this year. Not sure how much of that is really on IB; those two came to play for Marshall and Marshall's departure came too close to the season for them to go anywhere else.
If I'm being honest with myself, I would be astonished if IB was not here for this year and next year, at least. Unless WSU gets a bucket of money that will continue to pay Marshall's settlement, pay the remainder of IB's contract, and drop $3m per year on a new contract, we all better hope things get better with what we got.

What worries me more about who signed who is the lack of player development. From last year, the only improvements I've seen are Udeze's free throws. Others have stagnated or regressed. Our offense isn't doing much to light fires, either. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
