Fauci sure is taking a lot of heat considering that he was working for a guy who wanted his medical team to study the effects of drinking industrial strength disinfectant or shine really bright lights inside people. Fauci's boss was also known to fire anybody who said anything that did not support the boss's position 100%.

SN will never agree on policies about masks, their effectiveness, or anything else about masks, but there is one thing we can agree on.

You can wear a mask and go to Shocker games, or you can stay home.

As Americans, we have a lot of "freedoms". It has to be remembered that exercising those freedoms can have consequences.

You have the freedom to not wear a mask, you’re just CHOOSING to attend somewhere that requires you to wear a mask. You also have the freedom to not wear pants - thank God you’re basically required to wear them everywhere when you CHOOSE to leave your house.

I’ve been vaccinated and by anyone’s best guess you have been too. If you are still worried about getting Covid from me and since your happy to surrender your personal liberty (given to you by our creator) to the government, then you wear a mask and then put on a second one to make up for the one you want to muzzle me with. I don’t really care if you don’t understand the nature and importance of your freedom but don’t compromise mine because of that fact.

Nah, your body has two defenses: antibodies and cellular response.

While antibodies get all the press, it's your cellular response that gives you long term protection.

Antibodies fade off quicker than we would like with the vax, but cellular response lasts a long time and is strong in the naively vaxxed.

The cellular response that is built up from having Covid and/or receiving the vaccine is part of the disagreement amongst the medical community. Several months ago, I heard a doctor (who had a huge role in the past administration) talk about the vaccines, who believed in vaccines, but thought the second dose was too close to the first, to do the most good (I would imagine he was talking about the cellular response). He also talked about the booster after it would be approved, and that he questioned the 6 month period that was being discussed as the time period between the second vaccine dose as being too close to the booster, to do the most good.

I know that the WSU basketball community is just as dense as ever on these questions because they just think that a mask is the answer (but I digress from my original question).

I'm curious why we stop at masks and don't also require gloves. I mean if the masks keep us safe, wouldn't gloves make us that much safer? I'm going off the assumption that the people that go to the game are either a) vaccinated or b) unvaccinated and not afraid of getting covid. The people that are concerned about getting Covid will likely stay home right? I suppose there are people that are vaccinated but still afraid of getting Covid. They should probably be lumped in with the people in group 2.
