The emphasis is on the vaccination…not on the masks. WSU has gone WAY over on this issue in comparison to K-State and that other large school located in Lawrence.

Over 2/3 of those eligible have received at least one dose. What is "good enough"? Because I have news for you, we will NEVER get to 90+ percent.

It's true that KU and KSU didn't include masking information in their communication about the order -- but that's because they already had mask mandates for all indoor spaces in effect. WSU's policy was limited to classrooms and laboratories and had to be extended to all indoor spaces.
Also -- the order did not apply to "all KBOR schools," only to the three research institutions in the system.“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”

KWCH did a story on the policy - see https://www.kwch.com/2021/10/25/mask...de-koch-arena/ for the full story and video.
Also, here's a link to their story regarding possible herd immunity in Kansas - https://www.kwch.com/2021/10/26/doct...herd-immunity/Not responsible for damage from posts that sail over the reader's head.

Personally, even though I would prefer not to, I would rather just make the smaller sacrifice of wearing a mask to games this year if that’s what is required.
Again, why are covid deaths more important?Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

A year from now when all of our "vaccinations" have worn off and a new variant that is immune to the current "vaccine" will be the latest news. Big pharma could do more to develop an actual vaccine that lasts so we don't have to keep going to the trough every year. Until there is an actual vaccine we will keep repeating this cycle, I'm afraid, and less and less people will keep going back for another dose.

While variants won't allow the pandemic to go to zero, immunities from the virus (both covid and the vaccine) have been built up, and they seem to be muting the disease from high hospital rates, and people going to the ICU in high quantities.
All People need to remain educated. People with risk factors (age, immuno-compromised factors, etc.) need to remain vigilant, and visit with doctors, as we all should. I'm sure that Pharma won't stop trying to improve and sell future boosters, if and when needed. However, no reason to continue to live according to the factors you listed unless the person wants to. You continue to wear masks, and maybe stay home. I personally think that adults need to be vaccinated, but won't require them. If fear makes anyone on here happier (SB maybe this includes you), then live in fear, but I won't, and WSU can require masks and distancing if they choose and I won't go to games.

If there really is so much public health concerns about covid, then the university should implement social distancing for the games. Masking is ineffective in a packed 10,000 arena for 2 hours.
University requires masking and social distancing for classes. They need to be consistent or they really saying they will take optics and money over real anti-covid measures.
