they are behind one loss Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State. A one loss Michigan team will be ahead of them, as will an undefeated OU OR 1 loss OSU or Baylor. A one loss Georgia will still be ahead of them and perhaps even a 2 loss Alabama.
The Bearcats need first to beat Tulsa, South Florida, SMU, East Carolina and then probably Houston. No lock there.
Then they need Oregon to lose. Not a stretch.
They also need Wake Forest to lose, which is by far the most likely outcome of the ones they need.
They have to just pray a 2 loss Alabama is behind them. If Bama beats Georgia then it’s locked both will be ahead of an undefeated Cincy.
But their biggest problems lie in the Big10 & 12. An undefeated OU jumps Cincy. But so does a one loss OSU or Baylor as both would have glitzy wins over OU. For instance Baylor wins out over TCU, OU, KSU & Texas Tech then gets OSU in the B12 Championship. But if OSU does the same thing they’ll jump Cincy. Probably need OU to lose and Baylor AND OSU to lose again.
Hell, if OU beats Iowa State at home, goes to Baylor and wins then loses at OSU close then goes to the B1G Championship and gets revenge on OSU, I promise you OU will be close to passing Cincy.
But then you’ve got the B1G. Their best chance is for OSU to run the table and hope they can leapfrog a one loss Michigan State.
Anything is possible but I wouldn’t give them a 1-20 chance.
