Easier to coach at a P-5??? Talent falls in your lap. He may not have to be as hard as he was at Cincy...and/or if he is as hard as he was at Cincy...these days that'll chase off that UCLA talent real quick won't it??? So maybe he adapted. Idk...

If it’s easier to coach at a P5 then UCLA should be tops year in and year out.

Mick is the best coach UCLA has had in a looooong time.

I definitely think so... you know, he seems like kind of a weird dude but I have loved watching his team over the last week....

There are programs that should just be winners if morons aren't running the show. UCLA is one of them. Seriously, coaching at some of the P5 schools, if you don't make the tourney when more than half the league gets bids, you should be fired.

eg if 7 teams out of 10 in the Big 12 continually make the dance every year, if you don't, you should be fired.

Gene Bartow still was fired at UCLA and history shows he was a pretty good coach (not a moron for sure anyway) at several schools.

I think that UCLA doesn't have anybody in the portal because they are still playing. Let's see what happens after they lose.

It looks like Northwest Missouri State has successfully added its dominance in Division II men's basketball to that of it's football program. Pretty amazing for the sleepy little rural community.

My main point is that with all the advantages at a school like UCLA, Kansas, Kentucky, there are zero excuses, except those implemented by the people running it. At the beginning of recruiting, you have several top 50 athletes ready to sign. All you need to do is offer them. And given that half your conference makes the dance, if you can't win with the wind at your back, you as a coach are doing something wrong.

You may be a fine coach, but you apparently don't have the ability to steer a blue chip ship.
