slice it up however you want, we all knew Fred and Cle, maybe even Ron, were special players when they got here, maybe even NBA caliber (there’s a new word). On this team, we have one of that caliber. Maybe Ricky can get there, but right now he’s not close. He has talent, but he plays out of control at times and doesn’t fully commit to playing both ends of the floor. How he comes back next year will be a better indicator. Landry was a special player as well, he also had talent around him. IMO, the talent level on this team is not real deep. Top 5 are pretty good, not great. The next group all have a lot of work to do.

Dex needs to go to dribbling and ball handling camps all summer.

If he could ever add that aspect to his game, he could have a long career as a very solid NBA role player.

If dex can increase his 3 point percent up to around 40% next year, i do think he can have a role in the NBA as a 3 and D guy

After watching many tournament games including double digit seeds, I think we have some work to do.

To make it in the NBA, TE needs to work on:

    - Handling
    - Driving and Finishing at the basket
    - Mid-Range
    - FTs!!!!!

He has the deep shooting range already and the work ethic to continue to develop everything else.

I agree which is why I think it’s crazy talk to wish we were still in the Valley.

Under Gregg Marshall is was a matter of if, not when, we got back to being a great team. It’s possible we can get there with IB too he just doesn’t have the track record of Marshall so we just need time to see what happens.

A great team in the American is going to get a higher seed than a great team in the Valley a great majority of the time. Having a better seed doesn’t guarantee deep runs but it makes it easier because you can avoid the other top teams longer even if it’s just a game or two.

I loved the Valley, still do. It’s an underrated conference.

We are better off long term in the American.

After the last two seasons, maybe WSU needs to chase everyone recruited by Loyola. They can win.

Conference affiliation doesn’t equate to success whether it’s the Valley, the American, or the ACC. Great teams have great success regardless of conference.

Agreed. Conference affiliation isn’t the ticket to success (as most BCS level Basketball programs prove year in year out). The key is being superior to your direct competition in support, financial commitment, recruiting landscape, and brand... final ingredient- add a top 30 coach.
