Bench one of our 5's for who, JB? You wanna see if he can produce a 'positive' A/TO ratio (and that ain't time outs) over 20-25 minutes a game vs. Udeze? Maybe more time for Seymour?

Ok some of yall can't be pleased or satisfied! That win was awesome I was mad at first half and 3/4 of the second. I'm proud our guys found a way to win, keep that confidence up. We keep having long gaps between games which I'm sure messes with the guys. Glad they played hard happy with HCIB changing defenses and letting those men play it out. Its conference time and I'll take any win that keeps us in the race close or blow out wither way its a W and thats all that matters. Yes need better paint defense rebounding and shot selection but if they can actually string together and keep playing they will get better.

That closer-to-the-truth observation might be over some people's heads: Maybe someone who would be lacking in a little perspective, and that wouldn't be anyone in WSU's locker room, as the footage we saw above (#320) revealed.

I spoke earlier about how I appreciated that HCIB doesn't rip their butts every time they make a turnover or take an ill-advised 3.
As opposed to HCGM blowing a gasket and looking like he was about to stroke out.

But I think we have gone too far the other way now.
Too many times when the offense was just standing around yesterday, no off-ball movement.
Too many times we did not hustle back on defense.
Too many times we chucked up a terrible 3 pointer early in the shot clock.
And WAY TOO MANY TIMES when the other team gets offensive rebounds because we don't box out.

HCIB has to get on these guys for these mistakes at least a little.
There has to be consequences for stupid plays, like the lazy 1/2 court pass that was telegraphed and turned into an "atomic bomb."

I would like to see HCIB find a middle ground between HCGM vein-popping, ass-chewing, immediately yank them out of the game
(this became counterproductive with players looking over to the bench whenever they made a mistake).

HCIB needs to get through to them that LAZY play, BAD play and BONEHEADED play has consequences.

I would favor yanking more of them out of the game for such bad decisions and the EXPLAIN to them why and what they need to improve on to get back in
instead of blowing their heads off.

We play down to the level of our competition. We could have beat these guys by 15 points with a tighter effort.

Mo is a force on offense regardless of the size of the other player but is just limited by his size on defense against such a huge guy.

Still hope HCIB continues to improve and refine his game and the players and leads us to the Big Dance.
I would love to see him get the job because he earned it.

It’s me again, unpopular opinion guy. Mo’s defense wasn’t as bad as Shockernet would indicate.

The bucket he gave up at the beginning of the game after he scored on offense then let his man run unchecked behind our entire defense for a layup was really really bad. Terrible.

After that I thought he was pretty solid. Their frosh post did get the one bucket on him where he was just allowed to Shaq his way into the paint but Mo got him back later when he drew a charge.

He drew two huge charges at the end of the game and secured at least one big defensive board.

We’re still struggling to guard the pick and roll at times and he’s part of that equation. I’m just not convinced that he’s the sole issue. The strategy, guards, and help defensive have all been the problem at different times.

Udeze is most definitely not the sole issue concerning defensive lapses. Dude takes charges (MULTIPLE) Every. Single. Game. That's his spot. Uncontested 10 foot jumpers on the wings and blow-byes from the perimeter are the guards' responsibility, not the pivots, but, I wanna enjoy this win so I won't even bother going there. Maybe after we have another loss I will.

Really would be nice if Dennis could start even connecting on 30% from three. He was so far off on a couple yesterday, I think his shooting struggles are getting in his head. Has anyone EVER seen that kid smile?? Coupled with his temporary departure last year, I just kind of wonder what kind of demons are rolling around in that young man’s head. Maybe some depression/anxiety issues. Perhaps I’m way off base...

I tends to go with success. I’m not talking about GM, he’s past News. But I like Kelvin Sampson. He’s not afraid of showing his emotions, both positive and negative during a game. I think players need some of that to show a coaches competitiveness. It can be contagious and it shows in how they play hard and Rebound hard. They’re no bigger than us. I wish we rebounded that hard. We used to.

Coach Brown did do a little chewing yesterday. I think he is adjusting to the being a head coach. He is doing a good job. We don’t have great size but we have been in every game except at Memphis.

One thing about Porter is he appears deathly afraid of taking a 3 recently. People are really sagging off of him which is cutting off his driving ability and he's not taking those looks. He's only 2 of 4 for the year. He's got to be a threat out there.

He will start making shots but the thing I like is that he is playing his ass off despite struggling from the field. I don’t think anyone played harder than Dex yesterday.

I often see him communicating with his teammates and his not too high or low demeanor is very Tekele-ish.

Despite being way off the mark from three he still found a way to score 12 points. He drove the ball and finished in traffic a couple times, grabbed two huge rebounds, and got to the line eight times. Of course he played his normal excellent defense.

When his shot starts falling we will start blowing out some teams and improve our chance to beat the other top teams.

I really like Porter but I would like to see him look for his shot a bit more on offense. If we could somehow combine his discretion on offense with Monzies unbridled confidence it would benefit both players.
