Little chewing is the key word. We are not smaller than Houston and we are not a good, aggressive rebounding team.

We are 26th in the country in offensive rebounds per game. Basically tied with USF for second in the American, behind Houston who is second in the nation.

Defensive rebounding is still a work in progress.

        2. I thought the press came too late
        3. Most players were lifeless most of the game
        4. Survive and advance
5, Jackson's best game so far
        6. UCF was horrible vs the press
        7. Poo was bad, and Jobu still can't get minutes
        8. you could see Dex timing that block at half court
        9. TW had a nice line, but giving Jax his minutes was a big deal
        10. PGAG gives and he takes away
With this assessment, how was it not a 20-30 point loss??? Some of you guys think these guys are pros....

          No kidding.

I had a prior engagement, so didn't get the chance to watch the game live. But I did peek into Shockernet when I had the chance, and going by what was being posted I literally assumed we were losing by double digits the whole game, and not just because of the comments, but nobody would take the effort to post the g****mn score.

I can say, after watching the replay last night, they played better than I was led to believe. Turns out AG was running the O fairly well after all...

Totally agree. don't know what it is, but he has to be a threat at the 3 point line. He has a good stroke but doesn't shoot it. Sigh! It was nice to see AG hit some 3 pointers yesterday. If we can get more guys making 3 it will ease the pressure off TE having to hit every shot. Although that would not bother me if TE hit every shot. Lol

We just need one of Dexter, Porter, or Gilbert to be a consistent threat from 3. It would do worlds to open up the offense for TE

So, Drake is the 3rd best team in the country behind only Gonzaga and Baylor...lol
                Correct. And UCF is not.

                    • I’m always pleased to see the guys who didn’t have particularly good games still excited and pumping up their teammates. That is an ingredient of a healthy team. I’m looking at you Ricky. Good job!

                      • So good to see the Shox gut out a tough one. Proud of how they stuck with it and didn't get rattled. TE comes through bigtime when needed. I thought CJ was huge when needed down the stretch as well. Nice team effort and win. Had me sweatin there for a bit. Go Shox!!

White magic. Top 100 recruit. Skilled 6'6" player.

I think he didn't reach his potential possibly, but he never displayed a rip-em-up attitude either. It was just his personality. Great teammate.

                          • Read Taylor's article. IHCIB said that we played with no energy for 36 minutes. Wow, from that statement, you'd have thought we lost.

And yet, somehow the Shockers won.....

                              • I want back and watched this game with a critical eye, pausing and rewinding to try and understand certain plays. I came away with a new appreciation for the game and UCF.
                                • We got a ton of open looks and missed badly. If Dexter hits anything at all this probably ends up a 5-10 point win.
                                • UCF got a lot of lucky breaks. Balls bouncing in, bank shots, prayers shots at the end of the shot clock that went in. If they didn’t get so many bounces and Dexter hits anything at all it’s probably a 10-15 point win.
                                • I came away pretty disappointed overall with Gilbert. He did a lot of good things but I also noticed way more of the bad. Lazy defense, not boxing out, terrible shot selection, bad turnovers, etc. He’s still the best option at PG because Craig Porter is afraid to shoot but Alterique really needs to clean up his game. It’s simple stuff too so I know it’s possible but it’s also stuff I’ve seen from him all year so maybe he’s just not willing or able to do it.
                                • Porter does a really good job of finding the open man. Unfortunately, the open men couldn’t hit the water from a small fishing boat.
                                • There is a somewhat popular idea on Shockernet that mistakes aren’t met with consequences from the coaching staff. That idea has no basis in reality. Gilbert, Council, and Bilau were all removed at the next dead ball following mistakes.
                                • I made very few negative notes regarding Tyson’s play. He’s almost always in the right place and doing the right thing. Body language wise, I don’t see anyone who wants to win more than him.
