It is just crazy. This team has 20 wins, sits on top of the conference, is exciting to watch, etc. and several hundred people don't bother to show up. Holy cow, go down to a YMCA or MAYB gym and hand out your tickets if you can't go. Let someone who wants to go use them. I'm getting sick of the apathy. People are taking this program, HCGM and the players for granted and they deserve better.

    • The Shocks are drawing fouls and hitting the throws. We had a nice balance of scoring tonight. Toure and Hall also had some very nice moments. I keep thinking Kyles will get smokin hot some night, when we need it the most, and burn up the nets. Until then, i love it when the offense runs through Hall and Stutz, and Stutz and Hall. Can you dig that?

That won't happen for the same reason that there were empty seats tonight. It would actually require an effort. The people who own those tickets don't go to support the Shocks. They go to be entertained or for social or business reasons. The team is there for them, they aren't there for the team when they do show. Tonight is was a late game, it was cold and windy before the game and the game was televised. Just a little too inconvenient. However, in the big picture we need these folks' money. Whether they are at the games or not is really of little consequence since none of them make much noise in any case. But it is irritating to see that prime real estate sitting vacant.

          • The world was watching tonight and our Shockers did not let the team that hurt us last Season do it again, even after a tough first half. We shot arount 24% the first half and over 50% the 2nd half. We made our throws and found a way to win. We are at our best when we are working the ball inside, Rags starts driving in for easy layups, and Toure' plays his nice mid-range game.

                • A few random thoughts:

Our bench is getting shorter and shorter. Glad I'm not the coach. One, though, cannot complain about 20-4, imho.

Don't understand the rebounding thing. If Garrett doesn't get the board we don't seem to get the board. We need more than 1 guy hitting the boards.

This team sure doesn't seem to be on the same page at times.

I love Demetric's defense of late. He really gets after it, and man is that kid fast. His energy, defense and total acceptance of his job are paying great dividends.

I feel for David. I thought he played hard tonight. He just is lost on what to do. I don't think he feels he can do anything right, and that's too bad. It's your final hurrah David....play like you're capable young man. Have fun and let it fly.

The officials were terribly overmatched tonight. How does Higgins get the war on 44 and we get Larry, Shemp and Sheriff Branford?

Team chemistry still seems to be lacking, imho. We have to do a better job of sharing the ball.

Has a Shocker dominated for this many conference games in a row since.....Xavier McDaniel? I think not.

Scrodum is good, but not that good. He shot it out of his mind tonight.

We got another team's best shot, or at least damned close to it. I thought ISU was really good defensively except they had no answer for Stutz in the 2nd half. They could win a bunch of games down the stretch. Still wouldn't stun me to see them finish 3-4-5. The Jays will have a tough matchup on the Tree's senior night.

How the eff did we lose to Drake?

                        Great analysis Doc.

In regards to fan numbers, it does suck seeing empty seats for a National TV game with first place on the line and a 20-4 record. Especially, the upper parts of the student section. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? It's a 9:00 pm Saturday night tip. You have FREE tickets. You are on NATIONAL TV and they're empty. Pretty embarrassing. Of course, maybe it was the sucky opponent that we played that nobody cared seeing. I dunno.

Stutz came back with authority in the second half. He absolutely destroyed the Suckamore interior. Was waiting for that to happen. Kyles attempted 1 shot and that was off a rebound and missed. Smith makes our only 3 pointer of the game in perfect timing. It was also our only 3-pointer of the second half attempted. I like that mentality. And look at that, we won the game.. GO INSIDE.

The team needs to remember they're a team. When Garrett was knocking down FT's, I noticed TM would not give him a "five" afterwards, while everybody else did. That wreaks of something bad. GS kinda alluded to something in postgame. Said he had issues off the court he was dealing with and trying to overcome as well. I dunno what that meant.. if he was talking about his back or what.. ?

We need to remember how to rebound. A 20-4 record is awesome but there are still lots of improvements to work on.

Glad to get the win and keep the Suckamores in the Thursday Night Special where they belong.

                        Oh and thanks UNI.

                        • I'm no expert, but at halftime I said that this team was going to be defined by the way they played in the second half. The first half was simply awful and the way it ended certainly didn't help either. Either they keep playing uninspired and make awful decisions like they did in the first half, or they change their game plan and find other ways to win the game.

And how many threes did we take in the second half, two or three? The only one I can remember was Ben's but I feel like there was at least one other one in there. The team actually ran the offense, worked it inside to Stutz who simply could not be stopped, and played much better than they did in the first half. In fact, it got to the point where sometimes we had some open three point attempts but our players would pass those up ultimately to find a nice shot inside. People behind me were even yelling at the players for passing up these three point attempts! Thankfully our players are smarter than we like to give them credit for :)

Demetric's defense has simply been amazing lately. It was a really nice win against a team that played perhaps their best game of the season, including Odom, who shot lights out it seemed. There are still things to improve upon but when the games really matter, I feel that our shooting is going to be better. Only time will tell.

Ben's was the only one... 100% in the second half! Coach joked in post game that we hit 1000%

Why don't you call out some of the people on here who post the whole game in Wichita to come out to CKA? Is there anyone on here willing to say they could have come?

Unfortunately a lot of the students came to the game dressed as empty seats. They need to understand it isn't enough getting the tickets, they actually have to use them.
