Indiana State Game of February 4, 2012

The game starts at 9:00 P.M.

A couple of years ago, I arrived at my customary time of 6:30 P.M. The game was slated to start at 8:00 P.M.

Along with a hundred other folks, we stood in the cold because we were not permitted to enter the field house, until one hour before game time.

Yes, I am aware that I could have returned to my car.

This is a public service announcement.

There's a birthday party for my wife Saturday night. When I'm not worried about the outcome of a game, I just set the DVR to record it or use the Shocker Radio archive for games not televised. Then I seldom check the progress of the game and enjoy what I'm doing - knowing I can recreate the experience of watching or listening to the game live.

This one will be on the DVR. That means I'm not concerned about a W or L - this is a W. Unfortunately, the last time I wasn't worried and checked the game after it was over was the Drake game.

I think this will be a fairly high-scoring affair and some of the Shox who've been cold will regain some shooting touch.

After a slow start, it appears Indy St has gotten their act together. The Trees have won 3 straight games including wins over UNI, UE and the Drake.

Having said that, it is time for our Lumberjacks to chop down the trees:

This game has trap written all over it. The Trees are playing at a high level right now, and that level was good enough to send us to the NIT last season when we refused to compete and coasted after the first 5 minutes in St. Louis.

Hopefully that memory will be enough to keep the guys focused. If not.........


I challenge everyone to go to shockerradio.com and download the WSU v SIU home game from 2006. The Chuck hasn't treated a home Valley game like that for sometime. It's past time to bring a positive championship attitude to bear when the good guys take the court. Just listen. If you understand sports, you'll know what I mean.
