What was nice to see is that MU went to the line and made 2 big free throws down the stretch.

Talent is there, we’re just extremely disjointed on both ends of the floor. That is simply due to not having enough time together or enough practices due to COVID. We’re seeing what it would like like to play games in June during a normal year.

The only way we had better talent last year is because there were some bench players. What would have been this year's depth left the building last April.
Not counting the guy who should probably be on the far end of the bench, we had a total of 0 D1 minutes coming off the bench at the beginning of the season. Adjusting to D1 from JuCo or HS is tough enough in a normal year. This year it's more challenging. It's possible that in a couple of weeks, we could see Monzy and Bilau starting. Then we'd have some experience coming off the bench.Last edited by Aargh; December 12, 2020, 08:40 PM.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

The shots at coaching are annoying. The same thing would have happened regardless of who was on the sideline, and the final play looked almost identical to every final play drawn up by Marshall.

So the two players we have yet to see is Seymour and Jenkins. Wonder if they had extra restrictions or are just behind the others. Hopefully that Emporia State game happens next week so we can get some tune up work going

That no call on Cunningham that could easily have been called a charge with 1:50 left in the game that lead to a dunk and a free throw by OSU was a key point.
OTOH, the Shock missed their last 5 field goal attempts in the game so we had our chances.
On Cunningham's game winner the OSU players got about as far away from Cunningham as they could and it was just mano y mano between him and Dexter. Dexter actaully defended him pretty well but Cinningham used is height advantage and made his only basket of the 2nd half.
On the Shocks possession they had 4 players around the arc above the free throw line although they weren't really setting screens or moving much. Dexter had the ball just left of of center and RC4 was just right of center. Dexter took a dribble and step to the middle of the court and Cunningham who was guarding RC4 was able to step in to double team Dexter on his shot. Dexter shot was closer than most of the other 13 misses from 3 in the 2nd half but unfortunately we weren't playing horseshoes or hand grenades.

So far this year Tyson seems to get his points in quick bursts. Today he scored all 9 of his 1st half points between the 14:11 and 12:28 mark. He scored 6 of his 10 points in the 2nd half between the 12:51 and the 12:33 mark. So 15 of his 19 points game in two spurts that total about 2:00 minutes of playing time. He only scored 4 points during the remaining 33 minutes he was in the game.

Only got to listen to the game which is hard to judge the defensive play and overall play but sounds like Udeze played better and Bilau has some raw talent. Poor Bear has been a no-show so far. Etienne and Gilbert are a pretty decent duo. Can Dexter be a go to player? We have to have more out of him if we’re going to be competitive at the top of the league. I do think we have some really good players and will get better. Having everyone back is a big plus

1. Did our starting 5 give up 3 inches per man?
2. We have some pieces, we'll see I guess.
3. Poo might not be a starter for an average Valley team
4. Not a good game for the Wade brothers.
5, You have to be excited with what you saw out of Porter and JoBu.
6. the no-charge call cost us the game
7. game tape gonna show us not getting back, everybody will try that
8. ESPN+ froze up a lot
9. Mo plays smaller than he is, but he's improved
10. shot selection not good
