Agreed. I don't know if that's BB IQ or just instincts. Would like to see him starting, actually. And Jackson. Maybe that would take some of the pressure off MU and IPBC.

To me the $64000 question is whether GM would have won against Mizzou this weekend. Under the circumstances, I don't think so. So I can't blame IB for a loss. Now it boils down to the future. We are falling FAR behind the 8-ball here, with IB handicapped in recruiting having to tell players he doesn't know if he'll be the coach next year. Hiring a totally different HC and staff will put us 2 years behind in recruiting. I don't know the best scenario, but I'm steeling myself for a few mediocre years.

I fear how many of the players will depart after this season without a clear view of the basketball program’s head coach. How much further would that set us behind, another one or two years I suppose?

I think it’s important to mention that his actual quote was “one shot” not green light to shoot when open. Meaning if you’re wide open and stationary you get one chance to prove you can hit a three. And so far Udeze has taken exactly one in each game. Not that it’s very likely to happen but it will be interesting to see what happens if he ever makes his one opportunity.

Isn’t there normally a lag between the end of the season and when the transfer portal opens? Maybe not.

The powers that be have all season to get their ducks in a row so they can move quickly to hire a new coach at seasons end.

Players may or may not transfer depending on who we hire but as long as we hire a good coach I’m not overly concerned even if a few guys do transfer. If we lose guys, so will other teams. Obviously it’s not ideal and coaches don’t want to make it a habit of it but look at how quickly this roster came together last spring. So far I like the guys we were able to get on short notice and believe that a good coach could do something similar if necessary.

I suspect you're correct in you assessment although if Billy was hired he would not be taking the job from IB in my opinion.

His 3 point shot looks about as good as his free throw technique from last year. If IB has no issue with Udeze shooting open 3's there is an issue with IB.

I have to agree. Now if the shot click is about to expire and no teammates are open then, yeah, go ahead and chuck it up there. Maybe we can get an offensive rebound.
