  • Guess I'll be able to see one former Shocker play this summer! Hopefully James Rojas is next.

    • Not a former Shocker, but Wichitan Adrian Griffin has made the final three list for the Milwaukee Bucks job. Griffin, Nurse, Kenny Atkinson (Golden State AC).

        • Kinda hoping there is already an answer to the trivia question "What player, and former Shocker, was the last player to pass the ball to Lebron James in his NBA career?"

I don't think Lebron is done. He has said he would like to play with his son Bronny. Bronny will be a Freshman at USC next year and eligible for the draft after that. Not saying he is good enough to be a 1st round pick, but whoever drafts him likely gets Lebron for a year or two as well.

                • $30 - $35 mill per year may be "attainable" for FVV. From other article I've read, the Lakers are interested. Fred's in a free agency year and the Raptors are looking at a major reload.

                  • Fred should go to Miami simply because of taxes. He'll keep a lot more money playing his home games in Florida than California.

I know some players consider those things and others don't. I know I sure as hell would.

I believe professional athletes have to pay taxes for every state that they play basketball in. The majority of the games being in a non state-tax state certainly helps, but it does not totally eliminate state taxes. Another thing to consider is that states with no state taxes generally capture those taxes with having higher sales tax and/or higher real estate taxes.

He'd still pay fewer taxes as a whole. There are also some states that have a very low income tax as well that would be much preferable to playing in states like CA, NY, NJ and IL.

And even beyond the income taxes, states like CA and NY are insanely expensive in other facets as well. So FL and TX are still a major win over playing in those states.

He would be a perfect fit with the Heat mentality.

… and would be joining several other undrafted players; I’ve pretty much adopted Miami as my third favorite NBA team because of this…

                            #1… any team with FVV

                            #2… any team with LS

                            #3… Miami

You ever look at a hotel bill? Florida capture those taxes from all the tourists. Nevada captures those taxes from tourists and the casinos. Texas has decent tourism as well but they also capture a lot of taxes from the oil and gas industry in the form of property and severance taxes. So your right, they have to capture that revenue from somewhere but the where that's from can vary.

                              • Some cities even have an income tax. K.C., Mo., to name one.
