He led his teams to 13 NCAA Tournaments, with Illinois playing in the championship game of the 2005 Big Dance. He was also the consensus 2005 national coach of the year.

At Kansas State in his first eight seasons as head coach, Weber led his team to two conference championships and five NCAA tournament appearances. His Wildcats advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament in 2018 and he won Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year award in 2013.

Let's see if Marshall can accomplish those feats in the AAC, which is still not on par with the Big 10 and Big 12 but definitely a step up from the Valley of Mediocrity.

He was very successful at Southern Illinois and was hired to follow BILL $ELF at Illinois. Bruce had three very good years with players recruited by Bill. The fourth year started a decline to 2013 that let to his being hired by k-state after the departure of Frank Marten. Had a good year his first year with Frank's guys and started downhill until a resurrection in 2017-2019 followed by this year dead last. So yeah I can see why you get all excited about Bruce. By all accounts he is a very nice man and probably would do well at Furman.

Don't forget Marshall hasn't accomplished the feat of finishing dead LAST in a conference. Weber's got him there.
