Our obvious biases aside, I cant imagine what Murray St. thinks about this whole thing. Sitting in their position, match ups against LBSU or Nevada would be terrible. The win really doesn't add much more to their resume. LBSU's and Nevada's RPIs are much lower currently, will almost certainly be much lower then ours come Selection Sunday, and neither will provide the potential for a top 50 win. If Murry St. wins it will only look like a win against another team that wouldn't have gotten an at-large in the first place. Heaven forbid a loss which could give the committee every reason to drop them several spots in the seed line.
I don't understand the logic. I don't like to get wrapped up in the rankings but WSU very well could be ranked by the time of the Bracket Busters. We are considered much more solidly in the tournament as of today then any other team in the field, excluding Murray St., Creighton, and St. Mary's. Only thing I can point to is those teams should win their leagues, but we are tied at the top of the Valley. It is honestly mind blowing. If Creighton doesn't draw St. Mary's and we don't draw Murray St. this should absolutely be the last year in the Bracket Busters for the Valley or it will only add to the reasons why Elgin should be fired.
