They do have plenty of talent, but can they get organized and refocused? The Shocks' coaching staff that year was a big plus vs. what Memphis has going this season.
Ron Baker ain't walking through that door...

      • Arizona just choked to Arizona State. Might be enough for us to jump 'em on Monday.

Arizona and Memphis will drop out and we’ll slide in at 24 or 25.

exactly. There’s an obvious blueprint and 3G thinks we can “out athlete” them.

                • All you need to know about Tulsa and why they are leading the conference is because of their defense they don’t foul. They are averaging 12 fouls per game and their conference opponents nearly 19 fouls per game. UCONN is already in foul trouble trailing by five at halftime. They have shot way more free throws that their opponents as well.

I’m not saying I disagree with you but it’s the team rebounding void he fears while playing zone. Accounting for your man, sealing him in under the basket so the guards can pick off the longer rebounds are just things that are hard to do with a zone if you don’t practice them regularly. If we practice them regularly then his entire defensive identity changes which has won him about 80% of his games. There are variations of our defense that plays off of people that I would like to see more.

                    • This team does not need to play zone defense for extended periods. But if they would throw it in for a couple of possessions or after a timeout it could alter the play the other team called in the timeout. Sometimes it’s more about getting in the other teams heads...
Marge: The plant called and said that if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.
                      Homer: WOOHOO! Four day weekend.

                      • Big game at Tulsa next week. Not a lot of meat left on the Tulsa schedule outside of WSU.

                        • Putting a guy in the middle of their zone that can pass or hit the short jump shot is the best way to beat it.

                            • Tulsa just committed their first foul of the second half at the 13 min mark.

Tulsa was just called for their first foul. Big difference.

UConn looks a lot better with their ballhog senior guards on the bench.
