Pretty solid fan base, 7k average for a very mediocre team, paid a guy who hadn’t won a college game 400k for five years, this is a job that a coach on their way up can get some attention. SWOMO “insiders” seem to think Heiar isn’t happening with the supposed reason being a transgression of his ten years ago. Assuming it’s not happening, I bet the real reason is money. The names being mentioned now are very cheap ones.Comment

With what Tubby will be getting from Memphis, he might be able to work a couple of years on the cheap. He'll end up with the amount Memphis had on his contract.

Looks like Tubby couldn't survive the Good ol' Boy Donor Mafia. If I were a Tiger fan, I'd be freaking out right now, but when you look in forums and social media comments, they seemed pretty stoked about replacing Tubby with Penny. I think Penny could be a good coach if he were able to come up through the ranks as an assistant but they must be confident the talent he'll land will outweigh any inexperience and coaching deficiencies. Wonder if they will actually get Larry Brown on his staff?Comment
