Hmmm, not sure about that, check the Cotton recruiting thread... he may be just what the Dr. ordered. I predict Evan Wessel will play a lot of minutes next year. The kid has moxy and just looks confident playing the game... he plays with an attitude and makes those around him better. Oh, and he knows how to win.
Maybe Wessel can be our Odum.

The newcomers may make the difference next year but I think that is a long-shot and impossible to predict with any confidence.

The key to next year will be how the Seniors perform. Stutz, Murry, Kyles, Ragland and Smith.

Of the newcomers getting a solid contribution from Hall will be important.

If we get anything positive from Demetric, EO and the 3 incoming freshman that will be icing on the cake. D-Will is capable, if he can learn to play under control.

One or two JUCO signings are possible, but at some point we need to start building this program from the ground up. This year's signing class is a good start. Let's hope that continues.

Everybody is forgetting we will also have Charles Boozer playing next year, and if the kid is as good a basketball player as he is a good kid he will help. He comes from good genes.

Don't know if you are being serious...

but if that should happen he wasn't very good at Iowa St...so not sure it will be any help.

im confused by a lot of people that post here. is depth overrated or not? if depth is overrated wsu should easily be top 3 in the valley next year. if depth isnt overrated wsu might struggle next year.

we need some of our new guys to come in a challenge our seniors for their jobs. Our incoming senior class is not going to carry the team, they've already shown that they don't want to lead, with the exception of maybe Ragland.

I want to have an impact freshman on our team next year. I'd like to see TRich step up and show he can play as well. I also want to see EO step up next year. My hope hinges on the unknowns because I don't think the knowns are going to cut it.

Exactly the point I've been making for weeks now. Outside of Joe Ragland and Ben Smith, I don't expect anything significantly different from the returning players. They are who they appear to be and nothing more, which probably results in a 4th or 5th place finish next season and another semi-final ouster in the MVC tournament and another NIT home game. It's GroundHog Day all over again.

If this incoming class pans out better than Marshall's first two classes, we might be in business again in 2012-13 if they overachieve. Otherwise, we're 3 seasons away from being close where we thought we were this year.

                  1. Ragland gets it from day 1.

                  2. We come up with a good back-up point guard.

                  3. Stutz averages 14 & 8.

                  4. EO is productive and averages 12 minutes.

                  5. Murry re-discovers himself as a 3.

                  6. Kyles shoots 38 % from 3.

                  7. Carl Hall starts, rebounds, and is voted newcomer of the year.

                  8. We get a back-up 4 who contributes immediately.

                  9. Both the juco kids we add this spring help out.

                  10. All (ALL) THOSE THINGS GET US BACK TO 22-24 WINS.

Somewhere in the mix is Richardson, if he is not then he might be on the way out. He has a very good basketball body, and looked as if he should have played a little more. The other player that might leave would be DWill. Stutz and EO need to have some of our former post players help them with understanding post play.

I'm really hoping that the leadership thing resolves itself next year. There are reasons to think that it could. My hope is that the absence of this year's Sr's will make some of next year's Sr's more comfortable in a leadership role.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Agreed. I can easily see next year's team going 12-6 or 13-5 in Valley play.

I think TRich could become that consistent perimeter threat we seemed to lack at times this year. He seems quick enough to be effective coming off of screens.
