Stealing in the 9th was BS.

I don't agree with this statement. The game isn't over until it's over. FSU has the right to use their time at bat for as long as it lasts. Stealing bases during a game is good practice for the next level of competition.

Why would a coach have his guys roll over and take it easy on the competition when there's good practice to be had?

We got spanked good on Saturday & Sunday by a good team with a very potent offense....! Good luck FSU at the CWS.

My best "Pam" moment was when (she said) "Holt makes the catch" when WSU was in the field and Dirks made the catch.

I believe Holt was the next batter as well.

Believe what you want. I was taught to play the game differently and the thought would never cross my mind if I were coaching. I guess you don't have a problem with a basketball team leaving thier starters in and running up the score against an over matched team even when the game is out of reach.

I certainly wouldn't tell the reserves not to play their hardest, just because the game is a blowout. You probably would, but then thank God you are not a WSU coach.

Nothing wrong with stealing in the 9th. The "unwritten " rule (at least in college) is that you don't bunt or steal up 10 or more.

In that ballpark, 6 isn't a safe lead.

I was impressed with FSU and think we should find a way to begin a series with them.

Gene one time told me that he used to subscribe by this rule until a team came back and scored 11 on us in their final two at bats. He said after that day he changed his mind and now feels you should play until the final out has been recorded without letting up at all.

Can't speak to what he told anybody but I haven't EVER seen him call a bunt or steal up 10+. I have seen him and/or JT get on guys for both bunting and stealing on their own in those situations.

Not saying he does that routinely but I bet he would against a team like FSU in that park in a Super Regional...

I once watched OU run up the score on A&M in football and they asked the coach about it after the game. Coach Franchione said it is Stoops job to have his football team score points and win, it is my job to stop them. How can I be critical of a man doing his job? It is just motivation for us to stop them next year. To me, that is how a man answers the question.

If we didn't want FSU to steal, our pitcher could have held him on or we could have thrown his butt out.
