Need a couple of productive AB's here after Bayliff's lead off double.

      Nope. Strikeouts are better.

Drew Palmer, while he gave up 4 hits in 3 innings, did a good job of holding NU at bay although to this point the Shocks could not take advantage.

Now Vielock is going to make it even tougher.

Vielock in for the 9th - gives up 2 singles to start

so why leave him in now?

Why play Koeiman in the last month? All good questions.

Now that we've let them open up a lead, my bet is on the offense deciding to score a couple of runs in the 9th, too little, too late.

I don't know....maybe Butler is in over his head. Or maybe the veterans are not buying in (and he's playing Koeiman to make a point) and are just doing their own thing. I am just not seeing anything that gives me any hope for this program.

Shox trail 7-3, NU still batting.

This broken record has been playing for 6 years now. Shocker baseball was a national powerhouse, turned into a regional powerhouse, turned into the 3rd best program in the state and now is hanging on to be a Mo Valley powerhouse.

Glad we left Koeiman in there to pad his strikeout stats. Bottom of the 9th, a guy twice as likely to strikeout as get a hit still getting an AB just seems like lazy coaching.

I think I would like to see what kind of impact, if any, HCTB's first recruiting class that will be coming in next year makes before I write him off. Looks like playing time will be widely available.

                                Not many options out there.

                                Wes Phillips 9 K in 23 AB
                                Zimmerman 5 k in 22 AB
                                Bobbitt 8 k's in 30 AB
                                Haddox 10 k's in 17 AB

This team is devoid of talent except for a couple players.
