If this is, in fact, the guy looks like he could step right into the slot vacated by Garrett Pennington. GP was 6-0, 205 lb bruiser who didn't get cheated on his swings. Williams looks to be pretty much a carbon copy at 6-0, 215 lbs. Williams did strike out about 1 in every 4 at bats this past season vs 1 in every 5.75 at bats for Garrett. And presumably Garrett was generally facing better pitcher.

Went back and looked at his freshman season at mineral area cc. Struck out about 1 every 4 plate appearances but hit .366 with 25 bombs and .891 slugging. He doesn’t get cheated that’s for sure.

Also I saw somewhere in his Twitter feed he was at Missouri this last fall. Not sure what happened there.

This is starting to get a little strange. If you received a commitment and want to "wave the wheat" and imply something, that's fine. Just tell everyone who he is and info about him right after.

I think they can’t specifically speak about a commit till signature is received.

Not strange at all IMO. I like the approach. It is engaging and keeping it interesting. Uncoventional? Maybe. But I enjoy it.

Frankly, I would expect a certain number of players on a team. So, we should expect a certain number of these "players to be named" that haven't signed yet, so what's the big deal.

I'll save my excitement after I know who they are.
