2023 Off-season and Portal Recruiting

Figured it’s time for this thread.

Coach just said on the radio he’s gonna give the guys in the portal about a week to decide before he starts recruiting over them.

Also said he expects most current HS recruits to show up

Thinks WSU is still a national brand and wants to recruit very high level talent

Sometime between tmo night and Saturday mid-day for staff. Has finished interviews. Said he wants a strong connection to alumni so I’m assuming Pelf is a part of that somehow. Also said he wants Gene in the dugout as much as possible

After seeing Gene walk into the press conference I don't think that would be a wise move. He is a bit unsteady / wobbly walking now and there is no way he could get out of the way on a hot foul ball into the dugout.

Getting Gene involved with the program would do a lot to revitalize the program and get some of the fan base excited. They also need to tear Rusty Eck’s name off of the stadium and name it after him. Or name the whole complex after him and honor him with a bronze like Dave Stallworth outside of Koch.

On the Shane Dennis show he said he knows he has been brought here to win games. He said he realizes if he doesn’t his time will be short and he wouldn’t want it any other way (paraphrase)
