I think it popped up on my Twitter feed due to the post being liked by Shocker commit Brady Hamilton. That is the only connection I see at this point.

Also just noticed that PC Anthony Claggett follows him on Twitter.

        • If those numbers aren’t exaggerated this kid could be a real find.

Freshman righties throwing 90-92 are a dime a dozen and will get slaughtered at this level. If there are some other metrics to go along with velo...Then that's another story. Good to have in the program for future. But they are not the short term answer. I believe we cut a couple last fall that have the exact same velo #'s

I don't know man. There are only 3600-ish pitchers in D1 baseball. Ignoring redshirt math, that means each class is about 900 students deep, give or take a couple hundred either way. If you are in the top 99.33% of your class, you're one of about 9 guys that can throw as hard as you can. "Dime a dozen" seems very flippant for an incoming freshman that can throw 93 before even stepping on campus.

Here are some videos of this young man. He is out of Minnesota so should be able to handle the cold weather.

                        • Based on this lineup reported by Taylor Eldridge on June 25th plus the addition of Jr. RHP Jack Mount, So. RHP Daniel Zang, So. RHP Caleb Anderson, Fr. RHP Tommy LaPour and FR. RHP A.J. Rasmussen it appears the current tally is 18 position players and 19 pitchers are in the fold as of now.

It is also pretty apparent that this Shocker team will be very young with only 1 senior and 4 juniors among the position players followed by 5 sophomores and 8 freshmen. Among the pitchers there are 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 5 sophomores and 10 freshman. Overall we currently have 3 seniors, 6 juniors, 10 sophomores and 18 freshman. And none of the returning Seniors and Juniors were among our top players last year with the possible exception of Mauricio Millan.

I can only speak for myself, but just based on the inexperience of this team I am greatly tempering any expectations for next year and will be focusing more on player development and improvement during the year.

The pitching staff consists of 14 righthanders and 5 lefthanders at this point. As best I can tell only Sr. Matt Wilkinson, Sr. Nate Adler and So. Michael Mulhollon have ever pitched in a D-1 baseball game and their combined stats are 40.2 innings pitched in 40 appearances with an ERA of 6.04, a WHIP of 1.70, 39 strikeouts and 34 free passes (walks + hit batters). The Shockers have averaged 478 innings pitched per season over the past 3 seasons. The Shockers currently do not have pitcher on their roster that has started a D-1 game.

And the offense and defense will have only marginally more experience at the D-1 level.

My prediction for the season: The Shocks will lead the nation in BUF (Baptisms Under Fire).

It is a bit intimidating to even think about.

                          • So much for my worries that he wouldn't be able to fill his roster on short notice.

I thought we were at risk of having you and JJ trying out for the team.
