Jordan Black infielder from Johnson County. Good stats from his freshman season

San Jose, California kid. Another smallish player. 5-8, 150 or thereabouts. Middle infielder.

HCBG seems intent on finding Kevin Hooper v.2.0. Maybe this is the guy.

Most of the highlights I have found were on his X account: https://twitter.com/NicoARodrigo

      I like what I'm seeing.

Looks like he has some speed and ability to find gaps. Couple of nice opposite field hits as well. Defense looks solid at SS.

Nice video of him hitting a triple at Eck as well.

23 second mark of this video:

Looks like he committed to Illinois State out of high school:

Gradin Taschner 6'3" 235, RHP Neenah HS (WI)

A three-sport standout (baseball, basketball, and volleyball) by way of Neenah, WI, Gradin helped his high school and Stiks select teams both on the mound and at the plate. Already being equipped with a low 90's FB and a sharp breaking ball, competitive strike throwing has come easy for son of Major League southpaw, Jack Taschner. Boasting unanimous 1st Team All-Conference honors, Gradin was also voted the Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-State.

Coach Holm on Taschner: "Gradin is a power RHP whose fastball has been up to 92 already. I have known Gradin since his days of running around the SF Giants locker room when his dad and I played together. The sky is the limit for him on the mound."

From what I can gather is that he missed his senior year in high school due to TJ surgery and did not pitch for Illinois State last year as far as I can tell. He has transferred to Madison College, a juco in Madison, Wisconsin.

Apparently he pitched for the Lakeshore Chinooks this summer in the Northwoods league.

Here is a relatively recent article on him.
MEQUON — If it looks like Gradin Taschner is at home at the ballpark, that is because it is the place where the Lakeshore Chinooks pitcher is most comfortable.

                        Another Wisconsin kid signs:

Figured I would kick off the recruiting thread for 2024. Shox pick up a nice commitment from Devin Wassmann (Outfielder/LHP) out of Platte City Missouri. 6'1" 205 LB lefty who is rated a 9 by Perfect Game (Potential top 10 round pick and/or highest level college prospect). https://twitter.com/devin_wassmann/status/1440497

Nate Langbehn ranked right behind him in Wisconsin.

Recruiting certainly is taking a different path than we've seen for the last decade or so. That being said, I don't care if we recruit upside down if the result is we get back to winning like this program should be winning.
